Enzo is singing as he continues repair work.

"♫ High-density woman
♫ Small package packing so much punch
♫ High-density woman
♫ You got my number and it's yours to crunch..."

He's in a better mood than he has been at any time since the Allpocalypse began. Three guesses why, and the first two don't count.

"FREEBIRD!"

What, it's not mandatory when people are singing?

"I haven't got my guitar, I can't do the solo!" Enzo calls back cheerfully.

"Excuses, excuses..." Jordan snickers a bit, shaking head. "Oh-kay, I'm guessing your spandexed girl showed up?"

Really, how easy is that guess?

"She showed up," he confirms. "And you're not gonna make me feel guilty for being happy about it."

"That never crossed my mind." True! "I was more thinking about embarrassing you terribly with all kinds of double entendre insinuations."

Oh, right.

"That I can deal with. I'll even start you off; the first thing she did was debrief me."

"With both hands, intensely so, or it was all oral instruction?" Do not dare the Evil genius.

"Both our hands were already busy."

Holding each other's, of course.

"So, it was like you were playing the piano together..." Jordan snickers a bit, shaking head. "Okay, you win this time. How's the rebuilding going down here?"

Victory is his!

"Really well." Well, she can see for herself. "Upstairs?"

"Fixed up my room, and put my service-bot cleaning hallways. On second thought it was a bad idea, because it's likely to get lost forever..." True.

"Well... at least it'll pop up here and there and spook people?"

While still being helpful!

"Until someone smashes it?" Jordan snickers, shaking head. "Of course, smashing it will take some doing, the plating can take autocannon fire and barely get scratched."

"If a repairbot gets damaged, do you have to send a repairbot repairbot to fix it?"

"Well, it's a lot like if a doctor gets injured: it can repair itself to some extent, and it has some redundant systems." But Enzo is poked for the joke on general principle. "It's all good unless it gets too damaged before it can step-down the powerplant and bleed down the fuel cells."

And it is unlikely anyone will outright nuke a robot in the residential halls.

"Well, if it's that tough, then if it does scare anyone, they'll probably notice it's just cleaning up by the time they can do any real damage to it."

"I had to remove the combat protocol modules." Meaning the bot will not fight back if attacked. "And lock down the plasma cannon to 'welder' level."

Yes, she's lamenting having removed the weaponry of the bot.

"Well, it is working indoors."

"...and?" Jordan tilts head, puzzled. "You surely don't mean plasma cannons are not useful all the time, right? You just need a variable magbottle aperture and you have a weapon, tool and propulsion system!"

"You know better about controlling that stuff than I do, I guess. I was just thinking you don't want to use heavy weapons in a hallway you're trying to repair in the first place.

"I might not need to, but firing a plasma cannon down a hallway sounds like an awesome way of making these big scorch marks..." She grins at the idea. "Specially if you have Something Needing Plasma To The Face in that hallway."

Enzo... can't really dispute that. "Just be sure of your aim."

"Oh, but I told you Chives is unarmed. I needed room for the glue, nails, screws and oil to extend its repair systems." She ponders a second. "I could have ripped off the personality overlay modules, but I like how it sounds, all snobby."

"Chives?"

"My repair bot. I named them all as british butlers." How... creative?

"I thought chives were something Users put on baked potatoes."

"It is." Jordan snickers. "Someone, sometime, decided to name their son after food..."

"Go figure," says the boy with a roommate named Caret.

"People are weird like that: that's Users for you." Caret is not that bad a name, besides the multiple definitions.

"Okay, I better go see where Chives got lost to."

"Okay. See you later."

Enzo gets back to his own work. "♫ High-density woman..."

And Jordan adventures upstairs to rescue her bot...
