Peter is in the bar, relaxing with coffee, turkey pot pie and a counterful of books, all of which he appears to be reading at once. His crystal case is, as usual, at his feet. He looks happy.

On his way to the bar to get more pipeweed, Smeagol notices Peter and his books and stares curiously. He can't read, and so he doesn't quite understand the allure of books, but he's curious all the same.

He could be accused of reading over Peter's shoulder at this point, although given the height differences, reading around his shoulder would be more accurate.
