It's been a while.
Lilly's not sure entirely how long, because her own personal space-time continuum has gotten a bit timey-wimey spacey-wacey continuum-ish, what with all the traveling and multi-verse hopping. However, she is very clear that there needs to be some boozy-woozy in the mix and Milliways is still her favorite bar.
She bounces in, tan and grinning, aims herself at the bar and… stops, suddenly. Her nose wrinkles.
"Huh." Something's just a little bit off, somehow. Weird.
Oh well. Whatever's going on can only make more sense once she's had a drink.

"Lilly!"
He lifts a hand to her, grinning wide and boyish. "Hullo. Where've you been, then?"
no subject
Lilly re-aims herself in his direction, beaming.
"Uh, I think the question is more like where haven't I been? Because it turns out there are a lot of universes out there, and most of them have tequila."
no subject
"Been terrorizing the known worlds, then? Excellent. I don't suppose you're sick of drink and would refuse to share a glass with me?"
He rather thinks not.
no subject
"Yeah, that's likely," Lilly says, hopping on the stool. "What're we drinking? And what have you been up to lately?"
Maybe he's been terrorizing something too. They could bond.
no subject
If that smile falters, it's only a flicker, and gone as he takes a drink.
"Getting used to being back, in the main. Before that, in a war. What can I get you, Lilly?"
no subject
"If not, I'm good with wine. Or whiskey. I feel like maybe having been in a war requires something a little burn-y."
no subject
Two tumblers appear, along with a bottle, which he takes, pouring a measure into each glass before handing one to Lilly.
"Tea can only do so much."
no subject
"That calls for a toast all by itself."
no subject
"So were you doing this roaming and drinking by yourself?"
no subject
...mostly people," she amends. There had also been a universe with entirely too many shrimp.
no subject
Well, it's Lilly. Who knows what she's been up to?
It could be all three.
no subject
None of this is actually a 'no', of course.
"How about Bar? Any good trick food, gender-swapping or mandatory costumes while I was gone?"
no subject
(No shoes, however. He ditched them upstairs.)
"My darling wife."
no subject
Lilly stops just before throwing her arms dramatically around his neck.
"Huh. Ruffles?"
no subject
"'Tis for Havelock, my dear. Did my letter not mention?"
no subject
The most recent letter Puck sent had told his bedizened lozenge that the weather was being desecrated by a cromulent foam with a hint of frog, so that they were being sure to add eggs to the doodle sack, which had made Lilly think that a) maybe he and Havelock had gotten to crush (start?) a rebellion or something and b) they really should have agreed on a code before she left.
There had been nothing about ruffles.
"He's into magenta now?" she hazards.
no subject
"Oh yes, terribly," he replies.
"It's dreadful, 'tis all he will speak on. Magenta this, magenta that, magenta for Fridays and Saturdays and all."
Puck feels like he's been on this stupid road trip for a really long time.
no subject
"Well, it's very flattering and, um, probably good at hiding blood splatter."
no subject
"There isn't any blood to spatter, I'm afraid."
Plus, spattering isn't so much Havelock's style.
no subject
Lilly eyes the cravat. Maybe this is the famed doodle sack?
She's not entirely sure she wants to know what the eggs really were, but still. Puck is her husband, she should have a vague idea of what's going on in his life.
"So, what have you guys been up to?"
no subject
"Well, you know that we were obliged to leave the city, yes?"
no subject
She's pretty sure she knew that, or at least thought it was highly likely.
"But I don't kno- remember where you guys went after that."
no subject
Puck rolls his eyes.
"'Tis tradition, for the youth of Havelock's standing, to travel about and imagine oneself better than one's neighbors. In our case, the journey was undertaken to scape the current Patrician's ire."
Beat.
"Well. His uncovering of certain inconvenient truths pertaining to Havelock and those he has slain."
no subject
"Well hey, at least you get a fancy road trip and a chance to exercise your disdain for mortals out of it," Lilly says.
She eyes his outfit.
"Plus, you might actually be pulling those off."
no subject
"Ay, me, I wish I were." The fabric's kind of itchy.
"At any rate, things shall turn out all right for us, or so I imagine. How have you been faring?"
Puck tends to ... make up stories about what her coded letters might mean, rather than genuinely deciphering them.
