OOM: This is something she really can't handle before coffee.

"--is no way there is a bar in the backyard, Emma. Are you sure you haven't been spending too much time with Hen--"

The voice had drifted closer and closer until a young woman, with short black hair, appeared in the doorway, looking from over her shoulder to the wide expanse of the room in front of her.

"Emma," Mary Margaret hissed. A completely failed stage whisper. "There's a bar in my backyard."

Sadly, we must call slows for sleep after this last round of tags. We might be back for an hour tomorrow night, but definitely on Wednesday night to pick right up where we left off. Thank you, one and all, for your very Once Upon A Warm Welcome. This night has been full of magic and delight.

"I don't think they are? I mean, you'd hope the kitchen staff, whatever it may be, would check for things like that." Claudia shrugs. "I tend to stick with the Bar anyway. Cuts out the middleman."

"...Maid Marian? At least, she said her name was Marian. And she was from Nottingham, so...either Henry's rubbing off on people here or else this place is a lot weirder than I thought."

"From what you said last time, he's the kind of kid who would have mentioned finding an interdimensional bar." After all, if he's already going on about the whole town being cursed, why not throw that in?
"Probably the latter either way, though. I mean, there's an unofficial rule about it being bad form to call someone fictional when they're standing right in front of you."
notinthebook: (dubious...but listening)

"Yeah, he probably would've brought that up."

She leans back on her heels, face wrinkling in a thoughtful frown.

"She seemed real enough to me. But she's kinda...I mean, like a legend, right? So she could be real. Do you mean actual fictional characters come in here? How the hell does that work?"

"I mean, like - people you could've read a book about. Or seen a movie or TV show, or... I don't get the feeling either of you are the video-game type, stop me if I'm wrong. I wasn't kidding when I said my first conversation in here was with a Ghostbuster. Ray's not down here a whole lot, but he's around."
After the hyperspace bridge incident, though, someone should proooobably check his rooms periodically to make sure he doesn't do it again. But Claudia will leave that to his wife.
She shrugs. "Some people say it's like - stories leak through, so they actually happened in one universe and someone just wrote them down in another. But since not everyone would take that news very well, it's usually not a good idea to bring that up."

"Or maybe this is where his book came from," she muses, leaning back against a table, folding her arms across her chest and settling one boot over the other.

"Look, I'm not going to go around telling anyone they're fictional. First of all, that just seems rude. Secondly," she shrugs, "what would be the point?"

Emma doesn't exactly read much.
claudiometer: eyeing a door (those pesky doors)

Claudia doesn't say anything about the book; Emma's heard her thoughts, and she can't say much more than Artie's perennial favorite of 'never rule anything out' without more to go on.
"I still find it worth mentioning. Anyway," she goes on, mainly for Mary Margaret's benefit, "welcome to Milliways. First drink's free, official rules are no violence, no naked and leave your grudges at home, my top unwritten rule is check the door. It... likes to disappear sometimes. Usually comes back, but it's still a pain."

Yeah, that might be a good thing to figure out. Emma shrugs, makes a I've got no freakin' clue kind of face, and looks to Claudia.

What? She's the one who's been here more than twice.

"The couple of times it's snuck up on me, it's been in two different places," she says. "Mostly, though, we have about the only door that does stay put that I've heard of, at home. So I stick to that as much as I can, but if everyone else's experiences are anything to go by, you'll bet your backyard back."

Emma shrugs.

"It was still there for me this morning. I kinda hope it doesn't show up anywhere else."

If she accidentally brought Henry here, Regina really would kill her.
