Charles has been taking advantage of the fact that time stops in Milliways to do work and learn more about the people who pass through here. There's such a variety to the minds and experiences that if he didn't have to finish his editing, he'd probably spend most of his time with his eyes closed and just listening.

As it is, one of his sections isn't going as he'd like and he keeps going back over a certain sentence until he's quite lost track of time.

When he finally gets it right, he looks up and realizes that took a while and allows himself a break, so he leans back in his chair and observes the Bar.

OOC: If you approach him while he's working then he's not mentally listening except quite passively. After he's stopped working, he is actively listening to the conversations and minds around him. Feel free to interrupt him or wait until he's on a break. Please let me know what he'll encounter in your pup's mind. Thank you.

"Not very much, I pointed out that I lasted used Morse code when I was a boy during the second world war and he was surprised at how old I was. So I pointed out that it was the year 1962 for me and that confused him and so we found you,"

It's been a fairly straight forward conversation.

"...so why does he need me?" says Alyx, confused. "It sounds like you explained it just fine."

Please tell me I don't have to explain multiversal theory and higher-dimensional physics to my pet robot.

"I think he was wondering why you didn't tell him that everyone wasn't from the same time but also he wanted to introduce me. I'm sorry if I've disturbed you,"

The robot seemed to be like a dog or small child that wants to introduce him to their person, but with no thoughts, he didn't know for sure.

"Oh, well, in that case..." She turns in her seat and offers a hand. "My name's Alyx Vance."

I don't think I've seen him around before. I wonder if he's new? Time's so screwy here it's hard to say.

He shakes her hand,

"Charles Xavier and I'm still finding my way around here. I think this is only my third or fourth visit."

"I assume you've gotten the rules spiel by now?"

At least he already knows the nature of the place, in general terms if nothing else. She's thinking back to the last time she had to explain that to someone; it was... entertaining, in the same way that watching someone fall down a flight of stairs is entertaining.

"Yes, I have along with some other quirks such as multiple timelines,"

So far that's what's giving him the most trouble as there are mutants here but from possible futures of his.

"Yeah, tell me about it. My world is... very different than most people's."

She won't explain unless he presses the issue. Unfortunately, due to the images flickering through her mind, she doesn't have to.

He winces slightly at some of the images, but it's clear she doesn't want to discuss it,

"It makes for some confusing conversations."

"You get used to it," says Alyx. "Just don't expect much of anything here to make sense. Like, at all."

"I won't and I think I'll go back to my work. It was nice to meet you,"

There's still some editing he needs to get done.

"Likewise."
