Two figures emerge from the corridor that leads to the Security Office, moving slowly. It's Ava Wilson and Andrew Wells; they seem tired, or stiff, or dizzy, or possibly all three.

Wait.

Make that three figures. Sort of.

Perched on Andrew's shoulder, alert and looking around, is a familiar arachnoid shape.

Ava puts a hand to her temple, peering around ruefully.

"Am I concussed?"

Her head hurts.

[stilljustandrew]

"More like a hangover," he says, rubbing his own forehead. "It shouldn't last long. Drink a bunch of water, that's what I'm gonna do."

Even through the headache, he can't stop smiling.

[hadyougoing]

"Water," she murmurs, "got it."

In fact, she is making a staggery beeline for the Bar.

(She's kind of smiling too, actually.

Mission accomplished!)

"You brought me back," says Baby from Andrew's shoulder, faintly wondering. "How did you find me? I did not know where I was. Or remember that it was not where I should be."

[hadyougoing]

"We had some help," Ava admits.

"Well-- at figuring out what was wrong with you, anyway."

She forgot, but Baby's kind of a cute little freaky spiderbot.

"Bar ...?" she begins, tired and wheedling in approximately equal degrees.

A very tall glass of water appears on the counter.

"Thank you," she sighs, taking a drink.

Look. I did it.

I did what you asked me to.

"Make that two?" Andrew says, leaning against the bartop. Another glass appears, and after a moment so does a napkin with a heart scrawled on it.

"Bar," says Baby urgently, and springs from Andrew's shoulder to the bartop. "I am sorry! I did not mean to leave. I got lost."

[jonathanparagon]

Jonathan abruptly drops a very old book on his table with a lack of respect that's most unlike him, and snaps to his feet, his startled expression turning to joy.

"- you found her!"

[stilljustandrew]

Andrew lights up at the sound of Jonathan's voice, turning to look at him. "Yeah! Yeah, we did -- I gotta tell you about it, you're not gonna believe where she was."

[jonathanparagon]

"Come on, sit down, I've got a table." He's still beaming from ear to ear. "You want something to eat?"

[stilljustandrew]

"Just water?" he says, following Jonathan slowly and rubbing one temple. "Lots of water. I've got out-of-body hangover."

"All the water you can drink." If Baby is still on Andrew's shoulder, he reaches up to give her a quick pat. "Anything for the prodigal?"

Puss has been taking a siesta in the rafters, but when he cracks an eye and sees the spider-bot perched on Andrew's shoulder Puss drops down with a booted thud and happy exclamation.

"Little araña, you are okay!"

"Hello, Puss in Boots!" The mobile waves a foreleg at him. "Yes, I am okay now. And I am very pleased to see you."

Her voice is considerably richer than it was the last time he heard her speak, and much happier.

"I am pleased to see you as well," Puss enthuses, drawing off his hat and sweeping into a bow.

Rising again, he acknowledges Andrew's presence with a slight nod.

"Señor."

He grins, and bows to Puss with a flourish. "Sir Cat, I presume. An honor to meet you."

Trowa only knows Ava, of the three, but he's seen the guy around the bar. And the arachnoid, but only once and briefly.

Still.

He considers, then nods slightly to Ava. Presumably in greeting.

"Motormouth!" Ava exclaims.

She's had enough water by now that she's getting a second wind.

Deadpan, "Hi, Ava."

Whether or not Trowa's amused by the nickname is pretty hard to tell. (He is.)

He glances at her companions, but doesn't ask anything aloud.

She grins, following his gaze with a quick glance.

"Where have you been? Have you met Andrew and Baby?"

He waves. "Uh, hi."

On his shoulder, Baby waves a foreleg in imitation.

[hadyougoing]

Some time (and several tall glasses of water) later, Ava's nnnnnot entirely sure why she's still hanging out with Andrew.

It's true they both just went through some stuff at the same time and everything. Still, her work for Bar is done, she could probably peace out.

Though she could also use a beer.

Choices.

They've moved to a booth in a quiet corner; Baby is still chatting with Bar.

Andrew sets down his glass and gives a long sigh.



"It's probably a bad idea to have anything stronger," he says, "but I kinda feel like I could really use something anyway."

[hadyougoing]

"You may have just read my mind," Ava says wryly.

Beat.

"That's not a side effect of having an out of body experience, is it?"

[stilljustandrew]

He shakes his head. "I think it's more a side effect of having a really weird and/or emotionally difficult adventure."

[hadyougoing]

"Rrright," she agrees, logically.

"Oh, hey--"

This is to a waitrat on its way past. It stops and turns inquisitively to face them.

"Could I get a beer? I don't even really care as long as it's cold. And, Andrew ...?"
