He's not bartending tonight, so Bartleby finds a booth and sprawls into it with a groan. He's been 'helping' a friend of his roommate's move into a new apartment. This 'helping' appeared to consist of him carrying boxes back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, while arty, thin, androgynous people stood around and whispered under their breaths "Do you think he's safe?", "Should be in jail," and "Tried to destroy the world".

He's always hated the lie of human forgiveness.

Why Wisconsin? I mean, after a milenia, aren't you sick of that place?

"It's the place where I can get in and out of the Bar. I don't feel like adding transport stress to my life." He shrugs. "Plus, I know my way around."

I don't get why you don't just stay here, B. Are you and Charlie back together?

"Yeah." Bartleby nods, and a happy smile spreads its way over his face.

Then why don't you stay, you idiot?

*Loki leans across the table and gently hits him upside the head. He does it with a smile of course*

"Because this place gets too much, it's too closed, too many people, too much angst, too much emotion." He smacks Loki back, grinning. "Does my head in."

*Loki rubs his head and smiles as he talks*

I guess that's why we are spending a few days in New Orleans.

"Yeah? Good?"

Different. I've never been. David took me on a tour the other night. It was nice.

"Different from Wisconsin, huh?" He grins.

Yeah. It doesn't suck so much for starters.

"Very glad to hear it. Good airports?"

Unfortunately we didn't go to any airports. Maybe next time.

*He grins at Bartleby*

"Darn. I haven't been to one in a while." He grins back.

Well, maybe I will come back to Wisconsin one day and we can watch people at the airports. Though it will be much harder now, with all the security and everything.

"Yeah. We'd get picked up as stalkers." Bartleby sighs. "Or atheists."

[ooc: i've been playing b as having come from 1999 - when the film was made - so for him - us? - it's only just turned over to 2000. i've also said that his world is 99% Catholic and very religious because of what these two did, on national news no less. :D]
