"We feel likewise," says the Princess. "So this is not thy natural shape?"

"The eyes are different. I can see more colors right now than I usually can."

"Art thou colorblind?" inquires Luna. "Or does thy body now possess sight beyond that of ordinary humans?"

"The second. Adding infrared - heat - in along with the regular red green and blue changes things. It's a little like going from a flat picture to a model."

There are those who would view it as tempting fate. For The Evil Queen-cum-bluebird, it is simply as a matter of course. She alights upon the cat.

The cat opens one eye to peer at the little bird perched upon his spine.

After several still seconds, it begins to preen its feathers.

Perhaps he will hear her laughter echoing through his mind; perhaps he will not. The only outward show of it comes by way of a full-bodied shake, and three innocent little tweets.

"I am." He stretches, his claws glimmering white against his pitch-black fur. "Would you like a demonstration of how true a cat I am?"

He has already gathered that she is not a true bird. Is he likewise willing to endure a demonstration of how true that is, once she has been restored to her rightful form?

"Hello!" Aradia greets the unfamiliar troll. Seeing as how that doesn't look like anyone she's ever met, she's assuming the troll girl is only in that shape for the holiday.

She herself is temporarily a very tall Time Lord, who also happens to be male. "I'm Aradia. Normally I'm a troll too. What's your name? Are you enjoying Cubefall?"

"Hm?" Twilight looks up from her notes. "My name's Twilight Sparkle. I assume you're another friend of Karkat's?"

"Yes I am. Nice to meet you, Twilight Sparkle. Would you like a jelly baby?"

"...That just seemed like the thing to say." Aradia is not particularly certain what a jelly baby even is. "Anyway, how many of us have you met?"

"...okay, I realize trolls are carnivores, but I'm not prepared to eat a ***baby,*** thanks."

Belatedly: "Oh, and I've met Karkat and Kanaya. And you."

"...I'm not even sure what a jelly baby is. Bar, could you help me out?"

She receives a small box made out of Lego. It's full of brightly coloured candies. Aradia experimentally squishes one between her fingers. "I don't think these were ever alive."

"Oh, they're ***candies.*** What flavors are they?"

Aradia pops it into her mouth. Nom. "This one's orange."

Hesitantly, Twilight reaches in and grabs a pink one. "Ooh, raspberry!"

"So what's it like being human compared to being a troll?"

Aradia grins. Candy is great!

"Actually, I'm not human right now." She pauses, becoming uncertain as she realises she doesn't actually know that much about humans. "At least, I don't think so. I'm fairly sure humans only have one vascular pump, and I've got two."

"I wouldn't know," Twilight admits. "I'd never met a human before coming here."

"Me neither, but I've been coming to the bar for a bit and I've met humans at home since then."

Aradia sets the box of jelly babies down on a convenient surface so she can more effectively screw around with the supply of construction toys. "If you're not a troll or a human normally, what species are you?"

"A unicorn," she says as if it were the most ordinary thing in the world.

"Are there a lot of unicorns on your planet?" Aradia asks as she starts building.

"We make up about a third of the pony population, so yeah."

"What other kinds of ponies are there?"

"Pegasi, earth ponies, and sea ponies," says Twilight. "And alicorns, of ***course,*** but that's a special case."

"***Hi!***" she calls, waving enthusiastically.

"...Ah, hello."

"Are you normally a pony? Or did you just pick this form for Cubefall?"

"It's just for Cubefall." He decides not to let on that he didn't precisely choose his fate.

"Well, I ***am*** normally a pony." She offers a hoof hand to shake. "My name's Twilight Sparkle. If there's anything I can help you with..."

Tavi blinks a moment before cautiously offering a... hoof in return.

"I... think I should be able to manage until the end of Cubefall." He pauses. "Is this... a normal look for your kind?" Because clearly 'pony' means something different to him.

"...well, no," Twilight admits. "Alicorns are really rare, and incredibly powerful."
