There's no announcement.

There's no fanfare.

No humorous misunderstandings.

Nick Fury enters the bar, sits down at a table, opens the newspaper he was carrying, and starts to read. It's the New York Times.

The relaxed pose he is cultivating is somewhat at odds with all the black leather, kevlar, and hidden weapons he is currently sporting.

"Nothing to excuse. I just thought I should point out one of the few bright spots for the species in the whole mess," says Gordon. "Mind you, I'm going to say right now that I hope your timeline is better off than Sir Nicholas' was. And suggest that if you hear about somebody in your world developing any form of time travel, you make a move to get it away from them before they try to dispose of their enemies with it."

Gordon nods. "He was Elizabeth the First's spymaster, in his timeline," he says. "He earned that 'sir'. The time travel part had to do with someone trying to send General Steven Rogers back in time to get him out of the way of an incipient dictator."

"Probably for the best," Gordon says. "Thought I should let you know, in case anyone else brought it up. I've been a patron here for several local years now, and this all happened some time ago."

"You're quite welcome, Mr. Fury," Gordon says. "Take care out there."
