Happy hour
Summertime, and the livin' is easy...
Though if you're Ianto Jones, the livin' is pretty much the same. Aliens to track, new technologies to explore, humans abusing the flotsam and jetsam from the Rift for their own gain...all in a day's work.
Coming to Milliways for a bartending shift is so simple by comparison.
TODAY'S SPECIALS

Still, he's not about to put strange things in his mouth like some people who share his name, so he will ask, "Excuse me--but what's coffee?"

He's gotten a lot better about not being so hesitant to just say 'i dont understand'.

He, of course, is beyond such things as "sweetener."

So step aside as this adventurer takes a sip of the coffee, untainted, and--
"Hmm."
Actually? It's not too bad. "We don't have anything like this in Skyloft," he says, looking at the bowl of sugar and pitcher of cream. He adds a little of both to the coffee, then takes another sip. That's not too bad, either. In fact, a little better...
But he doesn't add much more than what he's already put in. He does have some notion of temperance.

"It needs a place that's very hot all year long to grow properly."

"Bar must get her coffee from some...coffee planet, I imagine."

It should be noted that Link's been taking quite a few sips between talking. He seems to like the little bean!

"It was very strong. Very, very strong."
Strong enough to make his boss's industrial strength brew taste like cafe americain.

In no small part because he's feeling slightly less sleepy than he did before, and given how he's always sleepy, that's a very good thing.

"May I ask...are you an elf?"
no subject
"I don't think so... We call ourselves humans, but I guess I look enough like an elf to other people? Someone explained to me what they were... He was an elf, too, but... I guess, what's the difference between a human and an elf?"

Oh, he knows what magic is. It's just that...nobody...in his world can use magic. At all. There's an exception to this, of course, but she doesn't know she can use it, yet, and neither does anyone else.
Skloftians are some boring elves for real yo.

He's not really sure what it is, either. The only magic he possesses is coffee-related.

"And you're not an elf."

Which might not be all that helpful to others, as it'd be written in Hylian.
He also might look less than amused to be saying 'down here' instead of 'walk into the bar', but he figures sulking won't make the door unlock any faster.
