Who just aced her firebending test?
KORRA just aced her firebending test!
She and Naga barrel into the bar, with the Avatar sliding down the polar bear-dog's neck to land on the ground and punch the air with two outstretched fists of victory. Three elements down - one to go!
"Woo hoo!"
[Behind them, the door slams and disappears. Korra glances over and notices, but just shrugs it away. Nothing is getting her down today.]
Bar clearly decides the occasion warrants a three tier cake of red and yellow frosting. Korra is not complaining about that, either. But she might need help with it, because she dies of sugar overload.

"Yeah," says Korra brightly. "It is. You want a piece?"
no subject
"Oh, no," Alice turns back to the girl. "Thank you, though."
no subject
Korra's already cutting herself a chunk, spilling it first onto a plate and then into her mouth with very little break in between. "It's really good."

But there is a note.
Korra –
Heading out. Might not be in-Bar when you come back. If you passed, congrats, all that jazz, celebrate all you want.
But seriously, don’t go overboard. Bar’s been screwing with me lately over my tab.
She turned all my skivvies pink and it’s not even noon.
– Voodoo
Of course, Korra, the mun refuses to discourage you from ‘going overboard’ as much as you see fit.
(Seriously, go nuts.)

And then looks at Bar.
"Please translate this into something I can read."
In doing so, if Bar leaves out the bits where he's mean about her, well, that's a wood fixing's prerogative.

"Here," Korra says, offering him a plate - Bar gave her a few - and a knife. "You want some of mine?"

Naga lifts her head up to sniff at the boy curiously. He's probably not edible, but that doesn't mean he isn't worth investigating.
no subject
Sorry Avatar, you've been out shown by your polar bear-dog. I think some of those questions were directed at you though.

It doesn't really matter how out of reach the thing might be. The small boy is sitting on a toy broom and content to hold on with one hand while mushing the lowest tier of the cake with the other.
It'll probably be the sound of sucking frosting off of fingers that will alert Korra to her company.
no subject
"Hey there," she says, gently pushing the cake across the bar and out of his reach.
"You have a grown up with you?"
no subject
"I big," he explains. "I th' big bradah."
And then he takes a bite of the mushed cake in his hand and makes an exaggerated, "Mmmmmmmm!"
At that sound, a nearby woman with a baby carefully cradled on her shoulder turns her head towards them. How is it he manages to get into mischief even when he's nearby?
"Cepheus, you know you're not supposed to take treats from others without asking," she says, stepping closer. "And now you're a mess."
"Is cake, Mama!" he says, holding the mush up for her to see.
"I'm sorry about Cepheus. He's gotten slipperier since his brother was born."

"Okay," he says before contentedly sucking on his fingers once again.
She turns and, with a gesture of her finger, brings over a pram that was sitting where she was before.
"Das for baby," Cepheus explains to Korra, taking the fingers out of his mouth. "Mama have baby. He 'mall. But I biiiiig."
"That does put things quite succinctly," his mother says. "Except for our names. I'm Mia, that one's Cepheus, and this one-"
The last is said with a gentle gesture to her shoulder.
"-is Scorpius, who can sleep through just about anything once he actually gets to sleep."

But it's a fine... whatever-it-is... at least, from where Thalestris is standing; and so she will be walking very slowly around the creature at what she hopes is a safe distance. Best not to anger a thing that size, not with paws like that.

"You can get closer, if you want. She's not going to hurt you."

"She's a polar bear-dog," Korra explains. "If you haven't been to the South Pole, I guess you wouldn't have seen one before."

That. That is a very large animal.
There's a cowgirl at the Bar, with eyes the size of silver half dollars. It takes her some time to tear her gaze away from Naga, and another moment to relocate her manners.
"Howdy. Whatcha celebratin'?"
no subject
YEAH.
no subject
That certainly sounds impressive. However...
"How does one bend fire?"
no subject
So she jumps backwards from her place at the bar, opening herself out into position, and punches an intense burst of flame safely into the air to her side.
"That's firebending."
