Some time after a note and a package of postcards is left with the Bar, Ellen manages to steal a few moments away from the RobCo project and slip back to the Bar. The package and note alike get a smile; she'll be looking over them more closely soon. For now, she's got some things to drop off herself.
Dear Steve,
Here are the comic books I promised you. I found most of them in the old Hubris Comics offices in Falls Church. Some of them are copies I asked the Bar to make for me. Those were either missing pages or particularly fragile or there was only one copy of that issue to be found. The older ones are comics that I found multiple copies of. I gave the other copies to the Brotherhood archivist to keep in the library. I've got my own copies at home, too, so everybody wins. I hope you like them.
Thank you for the postcards and the photos! They're lovely. I hope everything is still well with you.
Take care out there,
Ellen Park.
The note is accompanied by a bundle of comics, all neatly wrapped in Bar-provided envelopes. They're all from Hubris' publication line- Grognak the Barbarian, The Adventures of Captain Cosmos, Drake Tungsten the Chrono-Cowboy, Manta Man, The Inspector, Spy Smasher, and Tales From The Front. There's a few issues of each, including Tales From The Front: Alaska Unbowed, Tales From The Front: Liberated Canada, and Tales From The Front: The Red Terror (June 2077, July 2077, and August 2077 respectively). Grognak in particular has the look of a comic drawn from life; someone out there had access to a lot of medieval or older weapons.
Bar can handle them now. Ellen's got to get back to the factory before she forgets what she was wearing and has to answer awkward questions from the Scribes.
