Explosion entrance!
"WA HA-HA He found me! See ya!" Momiji waves entergeticlly to Toru and her friends then turns his attention to running away from the three older students who had agreeded to play cops and robbers with him. A huge smile is plastered across his face and he is soon out of speaking distance with the girls.
As he runs his eyes scan for an open classroom that he can hide in. Upon seeing one he misses it by a foot and has to take a quick step backwards to yank open the door and dash blindly in.
The door slams behind hims and he stands breathing heavily (smile still plastered on his face) as he looks at the class.... wait, what?
This was NOT a classroom. At least, not a classroom he remembers being inside of the school. His head tilts slightly and he blinks. "What is this?"

"Momiji!"
She stands straight up out of her seat, pure joy on her face. Though his question wasn't ignored and her smile becomes just slightly more closed.
If he's asking that, then he hasn't... Or he won't... Ahhhhhh, dammit, Milliways! She'll worry about that when she's done being happy about seeing Momiji!

Maybe someone was doing a play of some sort? Or a really elaborate prank. If it's the prank Momijji wonders if maybe he should leave so he doesn't ruin it. However, whoever is calling his name probably would know.
He searches around for who ever it was and sees a woman coming closer to him. She must have called his name but.... Momiji doesn't know who she is.
I hope I haven't forgotten her name, that would be so embrassing!! Momiji thinks furiously, trying to place the face and voice with someone he might have met- maybe it was at the first day of school thing? He'd seen a lot of people then!
His face shows slight puzzlement, but he decides to smile and wave anyway.

So she ends up saying, "This will probably be a little weird to hear, but I missed you."
no subject
"I'm really really sorry, but... I don't remember you."
Which is weird, because if she misses him he MUST have known her at one time, and not just as a face!
no subject
"Don't worry," she tells him. "This isn't the first time that's happened. Well, it's the first time it's happened between us but it's not the first time this has happened to me here."
Which probably isn't helpful. Time for introduction spiel!
"This is your first time here, right? Instead of where-ever you meant to be, you ended up in Milliways. This is a sort of hub, a place where different worlds, different times, and different universes meet together. Sometimes this causes strange happenings like meeting people who already know you."
She offers her hand to him.
"My name's Mia Malfoy. And though this is technically our first meeting, I'm very happy to see you again."
no subject
"Nice to meet you! I'm Momiji... though, I guess you know that?" Insert puzzled voice. "So... like... magic?"
If this is a prank, it's pretty gosh darn elaborate!
no subject
She takes her hand back and taps her chin, thoughtful.
"That must have been a few months ago. I haven't seen him since before my second child was born."
And now she's kind of glad that none of the Sohmas got caught up in the whole Milliways dealing with the apocalypse thing.
no subject
"Not fair, he should've told me!" There's a little petulant voice in his tone.
"So wait, we do know each other? And... it's not from high school?"
no subject
Mia shrugs, trying to find an easier way to explain it.
"It's kind of like your life is a tree and the branches are the possible paths you can take. Sometimes more than one branch comes through here. Does that make any sense?"
no subject
"I guess that makes sense... but... where am I? You're saying this isn't school, so where is it?"
no subject
Mia offers him a seat at her table.
"It's all a lot to take in the first time around, especially in cases like this. Would you like to sit down and have some tea?"
no subject
"Is the tea good?" His stomach has chosen this moment to say something about the fact that it's empty and could use some filling.
"Um, how does the other branch-me know you?"
no subject
Roast Ant Surprise comes to her mind.
"Not too long after I came here, the other branch-you arrived and I was one of the first people to meet him. We became very close friends, learning about Milliways and our respective worlds together and exchanging gifts from our homes. He was even the ring bearer in my wedding."
She pours a cup of tea for him, accustom to keeping more than one cup for these situations.

She glances over at the ruckus when he barrels in, and smiles softly. Her long hair is plaited, almost completely hidden by the cowboy hat hanging at her back. She's in her usual trousers, boots, and spurs, with her gun belt as always on her hips.
The very picture of an American cowgirl.
"Milliways."
no subject
Someone answers his poorly directed question. "What's a Milliways?"
no subject
"This is Milliways, the bar at the end of the universe. This your first time here, sugar?"
Smiling, she holds out a hand.
"I'm Miss Kate Barlow."
no subject
"But why is this place in my school?"
no subject
"S'a pleasure, Master Sohma. Well — I don't suppose there's magic where you're from? Because, y'see, we're not in your school. The door t'this place tends t'show up whenever an' wherever it likes."
no subject
Momiji is bouncing slightly on the balls of his feet, still smiling brodly.
no subject
"Oh, I'm sorry, I should say this place is perfectly safe. An', as a matter of fact, time stops outside when you come in. So whenever y'leave, it'll be like no time at all has passed."
no subject
He turns on one foot looking around the whole bar and stops looking at the window to the end of the universe. "What is /that/?"
no subject
She chuckles, warmth lighting her eyes. And then she follows his gaze.
"Ah, yes. Remember how I said this was the bar at the end of the universe? That would be the end of it. This whole place is protected by some kinda shield, an' with time the way it is the end of all things happens jus' about every hour."
Beat.
"Like a fireworks show."
no subject
"And it's totally safe right?"
no subject
She shakes her head, hunting for the right word.
Her face lights up.
" — wonderful."
no subject
There's no disbelief in his voice, and he completes his turn to take a full look at the whole of the bar.
