Steve McGarrett/H5-0
Steven walks in as he takes a slow look around. This isn't where he wanted to be! He wanted to be at his favorite hole in the wall place for some Loco Moco. With a heavy sigh he sets down at the bar asking Bar for some hoping that it's as good as the islands. (Almost never anywhere off island is the same.)
After getting it he goes to settle in to a booth with coconut water. Come by to bother him or simply ask what is that you're eating?

"Sorry to bug you, but I just have to ask... what're you eating?"
New York has some pretty varied cuisine, but this doesn't look familiar.
"Mind if I... ?" she asks, gesturing to the empty bench of Steve's booth.
no subject
"No, go ahead. This is Loco Moco, it's a common breakfast food in Hawaii. It's rice with a hamburger patty brown gravy and a fried egg over it."
no subject
She takes a seat on the bench opposite Steve and waves over a passing waitrat. "I'll have what he's having, please."
"So, Hawaii, huh? You live there?"
no subject
He smiles then.
"Yes, I live in Hawaii, But even after 20 years I still get looked at as an Haole."
no subject
Even when you're a superhero who can fire photonic blasts from you're hands, it's still important to stay fit.
"Sounds like it's not as easy a place to blend in as New York is—that's where I'm living now. I've flown into Hickham a few times, but I never got to see anything off base."
Being and Avenger has many benefits. Plentiful vacation time is not one of them.

He then takes a drink.
"Krav maga I'm impressed. And no if you don't have the island look about you you stick out or they think you do."
no subject
"I'm teaching one of my colleagues." Because Romanova's not deadly enough without learning another form of martial arts. "And working with her helps me stay sharp. All the training is part of why I haven't had time for a vacation, actually. I'd love to try surfing, though."
She's a bit of an adrenaline junkie, Carol.
no subject
"Navy, I'm a SEAL, yeah. I've trained in a little."
The SEAL part he figures explains that.
"Yeah, If your ever in Honolulu then you should look me up, I'm Five-0"
no subject
And life has been all peace and quiet since then. Hah!
"I'm Carol Danvers, by the way. It's a pleasure to meet you."
Just then the waitrat returns with Carol's order, and she digs right in. It's a strange combination of foods, to be sure, but it's also kind of delicious.
"Well if your food's as good as this in Honolulu, I'll definitely have to swing by some time. What's Five-0?"
no subject
"I'm Steve McGarrett, Nice to meet you as well."
He nods as he eats more.
"I know I think you should and we have more really good local foods and fresh pineapple."
no subject
He passes the officer's booth, and then catches the familiar scent of rice and gravy and turns toward it. "Hamburger or Spam?"
no subject
no subject
"When I was in Florida I knew a great couple that lived in Maui half the year and they used to make that stuff all the time - said the locals actually prefer it with Spam but I can't do the pink stuff. Too close to mystery meat for me."
no subject
"Can I get you an order?" He won't pay, he doesn't realize that later there is no way to wiggle out of the tab...
no subject
His smile spreads slightly as he realizes that yeah, he kind of does have a reason to get back in shape... but, she'll never know about an extra trip to the gym.
no subject
Slow smile appears as eh sips his tea.

"I... am the luckiest man on the planet," he chuckles shoving another heavily chili cheese laden fry into his mouth. After swallowing and wiping his mouth he added; "For reasons I swear I don't understand, I'm pretty sure I've landed the woman I'm going to spend the rest of my life with."
