Petra is sitting at the bar holding a regular lether bound journal and talking at the bar about the pen the bar had given her in response to her request. Her objection to the pen is fairly obvious- rather than a typical ball-point pen the bar produced a foot long, feather capped quill complete with ink well.

"Nothing by halves? You realize that this is going to make this 'write daily in journal' thing a whole heck of a lot harder right?."

A mint tea appears in response.

Bonzo notices someone familiar sitting at the Bar and walks over.

"Ho, Petra."

And then he notices that she's writing, and mentally smacks himself.

Situational awareness? Missing. Ugh.

Petra gives up her argument with the bar as a useless waste of time. Blocks of wood, if they typically came to life, probably weren't open to persuasion, at least, she'd never won against the bar before. Her, "Ho, Bonozo," is more than a little bit exasperated though.

Bonzo can hear the exasperation in Petra's voice.

"Bar giving you trouble?"

Or was my timing that bad?

"It has decided that I need to write with a quill pen. I have no idea how to write with a quill pen."

She spares a glare at the bar before looking back at Bonzo.

"I didn't think I needed to be specific this time."

Bonzo shakes his head at the thought. "I think you use it to kill the paper with?" After all, it does have a sharp end.

"What're you writing?"

Sarcasm drips from Petra's words, "Ha, ha, so not helpful."

She closes the journal and puts down her pen. "It's this journal the shrink says I should write in daily. She says be honest. I don't thinks she actually wants that."

Bonzo smirks at that...and then blinks. "Wait, shrink?"

Petra taps the journal as she speaks.

"It's one of Peter's requirements. I see a shrink, he doesn't freeze my accounts. As a side irk, apparently I didn't pass the last psyche evaluation he requried, so I'm not allowed to carry a fire arm in the hegemon buildings. But seriously, a journal?"

A little bit of disgust on her face.

Bonzo rolls his eyes. "You failed a psych evaluation? Looks like neither of us would do too well there."

"Well, considering I spend a whole bunch of time in a bar at the end of the universe, talking to people who among other things have the ability to fly," she looks at Bonzo, "Not to mention guys that are just flat out dead, I guess I'm not too shocked."

Bonzo shrugs. "It's not like this place is a hallucination." Beat. "Or if it is, it's a very good one that serves edible food."

"Imagine me telling my shrink that though. I'd /never be allowed to do anything again. And the bar is so not helping with this archaic writing utensil. I'm pretty sure the Hegemony doesn't have any of these." Petra shakes the quill, then sighs.

"Peter probably knows exactly what I brought with me, if I was to write with this," Petra glares at the bar, "then he'd know something was hinky."

Bonzo looks puzzled for a moment. "Why didn't they just have you use...something electronic?"

Petra shrugs. "I'm sure there is a reason, but what it is they haven't clued me into."

Bonzo rolls his eyes at the rather odd procedure.

Some things never change...

"How much does Peter know? About here, I mean?"

"As far as I know, nothing." Petra says with a sigh.

"As much as Peter gets under my skin," There's a pause here as she visibly collects her thoughts, "I would rather he didn't think I was hallucinating."

"Right." Beat. "Always fun having a place nobody knows about and that you can't tell them about or they'll think you're nuts."

I can only wonder what would have happened if we'd been pulled in here earlier on in Battle School.

"Are you unbound yet?"

Petra decides to pull the conversation away from Peter. It strikes her that talking to Bonzo about Peter at all is slightly weird.

Bonzo shakes his head. "No, I'm not." Shrug. "I'm...I don't know if I'm ever getting out of here."

"What do you think the bar wants? It seems like she always has a purpose in binding someone."

Petra's feeling introspective at the moment.
