Fury is sitting at the bar, drinking a cup of coffee.

He's reading a (paper) copy of Stranger In a Strange Land with a thoughtful frown on his face.

He sees a small blue dragon, with jewel like eyes. Her head is cocked sideways slightly.

What does classified mean?

She's a very young dragon.

"It means that it's a secret. I can't tell anyone."

A brief pause, while he continues to stare.

"What's your name?"

[youngest_dragon]

Oh. I hate secrets.

Skysong says this in a very mater-of-fact manner.

I'm Skysong, but Diane calles me Kitten. I like them both. Who are you?

[the_man]

"Yeah, a lot of people do. I'm Nick. Where do you come from, Skysong?"

The look on his face suggests that is a question he never pictured himself asking.

Tortall, I live with Diane and Numair. She's a wildmage.

She tilts her head to another side, as if to get another angle on him. Her tail is swaying slightly as it hangs off of the stool.

[the_man]

"I've never heard of Tortall. What's it like?"

They are apparently equally fascinated by each other, then.

It's full of people. There are deserts that are really hot, but up north it can get really cold. So far I've gotten to see a lot of it as I travel with Diane.

Where are you from?

[the_man]

"I'm from Earth. We have deserts too, and cold in the North. Do you like the heat or the cold better?"

[youngest_dragon]

Skysong does a little hop-jump to rearrange her claws on the stool before answering.

Heat. I'm not like a Lizard exactly, because I've got magic, but warm is still better!

[the_man]

"I would never mistake you for a lizard," he says. "Never met a lizard with wings."

[youngest_dragon]

Good. Some people call me a lizard, but Diane tells me not to be upset, they just don't understand. Now that I can talk to them, people are nicer.

Do you like being here? I haven't decided yet.

"It's interesting," he says diplomatically. "I haven't decided yet either."

[youngest_dragon]

Oh. What is that? She sniffs in the general direction of his coffee.

[the_man]

"Coffee. You wanna try it?" He slides the cup carefully in her direction. The coffee is still hot, but no longer steaming.

[youngest_dragon]

Thank you. Skysong reaches out and picks up the cup in very dainty claws. A sip later causes her to make a very funny face- made even funnier by the fact that it is in miniature on her face.

That's gross! Humans sure like funny things.

[the_man]

"Very true."

He takes the cup back when she is done, and slides it back onto the bar. He pulls a few dollars out of his pocket, which disappear as they hit the bar top.

"It was nice to meet you, Skysong, but I need to get going."

[youngest_dragon]

Alright! Bye! Skysong makes the human gesture of a wave, and then slips off the chair and trots away.
