Ava, who keeps an eye to the notice board as a matter of course, notes the name Eric with vague interest.

Seriously, what is it with guys named Eric?

With a mental shrug, she passes by.

Teja has come back out by now, and is leaning by the bar.

Noticing Ava's reaction. Does she know that vampire, also?

Ava spots Teja, no longer even really thinking that much about Erics of any sort, vampiric or not.

... Well, she is thinking a little about that vampire guy. She's not sure what direction to go with that yet.

"Hey, Teja."

"Do you know these people I arrested?" Teja asks, stopping to talk to her.

"I don't think so," she says, ambling nearer.

She has a very pretty jeweled necklace on.

"Rules one and two are ... violence and grudges, right?"

[ostro_goth]

"Violence, and business from home," Teja says. "Which they brought to bear upon each other."

[hadyougoing]

"Well, I guess it could've been worse," she says.

It could've been public hatesex!

Teja, despite being Teja, gives a brief laugh.

"It could always be worse!" he says. "This is Milliways!"

Ava has this sneaking suspicion that Teja's not as grim as he purports to be!

"Well, yeah," she says.

"Why don't we have that on a t-shirt yet?"

Teja has become somewhat less grim lately, thanks in part to Loki. Nobody can remain very grim when exposed to Loki for a while.

"Why should one write on a shirt?" Teja asks.

[hadyougoing]

"It ..."

Hold up, that's a really good question.

"It's like a really fast way to announce something to the world," she says. "Like ... that around here it could always be worse."

"I have a shirt that says 'Goth'," Teja says. "It presumably announces what I am. But of course, other things my be written upon them. I could have a shirt with the three rules on. Or one saying 'Milliways Security', so all know who to turn to."

[hadyougoing]

"That might be helpful," Ava enthuses.

She likes knowing what Security's up to, and also tends to forget Milliways has rules and that they apply to her.

"Uhhh. The Goth shirt sounds fun too."

[ostro_goth]

"People deserve a warning before encountering me," Teja says, with a little chuckle.

Yes, chuckle.

[hadyougoing]

"You're so nice," Ava grins.

[ostro_goth]

"It is only fair, if they are to meet a Goth!" Teja says, still amused.

[hadyougoing]

"The only problem is," Ava points out, logicsomely.

"What if you're on duty, but you also want to point out what the rules are?"

Wearing two t-shirts at once is cumbersome! Plus: you kind of have to layer them.

"I might put one thing on the front, and the other on the back?" Teja says.

[hadyougoing]

"... Okay this is the best idea," she says.

"You have to do it."

[ostro_goth]

"Well, there have been better ideas," Teja says. "But indeed, anything has two sides, even a Security Ostrogoth."

[hadyougoing]

She snorts.

"There are some things that only have one side. But not people, I guess."

[ostro_goth]

"Which things?" Teja asks.

[hadyougoing]

She shrugs.

"Demons."

It was the first thing to come to mind.

"I know it's different on some other worlds, but on mine ... they're just making time until they get a chance to rip your lungs out." Sam.

[ostro_goth]

"Do they not at least pretend to have another side?" Teja says.

[hadyougoing]

"Sure, they pretend," Ava says wryly.

"They're not bad at it."

[ostro_goth]

"Your sort of demons are truly bad news, and only bad news?" Teja says.

[hadyougoing]

"You got it," she nods.

"One side only."

[ostro_goth]

"No matter what they write upon the back of their shirts?" Teja says.

He might be joking. Or, indeed, perpetrating some sort of pun.

[hadyougoing]

She makes a face.

"You want to hang out with some and see for yourself, be my guest."

[ostro_goth]

"Indeed," Teja says, "I do not."

[hadyougoing]

Ava smiles faintly.

"Good call."

"Are they very common in your world?" Teja asks, harmlessly enough.

[hadyougoing]

"Sort of," Ava says.

"I mean, most people spend their whole lives not knowing they're real. But there's a lot of them."

[ostro_goth]

"It is a deeply fearsome world, that you are from," Teja says.
