Since that strange night, Charles has been an owl. He hasn't seen anyone he knows and has been enjoying flying around outside but he wants to get back to himself. This is awkward and his feathers require a lot of work.

Today he is perched on the back of a chair with a newspaper laid out on the table and a small bowl of nuts. He refuses to eat a mouse or bird even if some of them do look tasty.

(OOC: Open all weekend. Charles will be speaking telepathically into your pup's head if he decides to talk to them. If they have mental shields, let me know, as he's sort of listening, just not as much as usual. Being an owl is distracting. The last thing Iris was expecting was an owl - the usual owls the lady Athena favors do not look like these either, so that combined with a lack of speech in her mind makes this wholly new.

"Hello, friend bird," Iris smiles.

Hello, Iris. I um accidentally got transformed into an owl.

He perches on the stool next to her and looks at her.

Iris' eyes go as wide as Charles' new ones.

"But...why? Did whoever dared to do so not offer to reverse it?" I can smite them, she reminds helpfully.

She tried but it didn't work. It was an accident, no need for smiting.

That wouldn't work out well and he just wants to not be an owl anymore. He tries to gently head butt her, its meant to be affectionate.

"At least you make a beautiful creature. Not that you were not so before," Iris amends.

Light fingers trail against Charles' new wings. "Do you like it?"

He shifts into her fingers.

Yes and no. Its strange to not fully be myself but I still am.

"And of course you would end up in a form of the lady Athena, no?"

I don't feel terribly wise.

Since he's close to her already, he moves closer to try to lean against her. His last conversation with Erik left him feeling like he was failing both of them.

"Your mind is also about the size of a walnut in that head right now. Do not judge too harshly."

I'm allowed to judge myself though I do miss my own head. Its hard to hug you this way.

Iris makes a small conciliatory sort of noise. That sort of contact is not necessary, but I am sorry you cannot do what you wish.

Would you prefer to speak in other ways?

This is comfortable for him, he's never felt odd talking in his mind.
