(no subject)

So…this happened.

And three days later there's a fully grown, fully dressed musician in the trilobite tank.

He pulls himself out, sputtering a bit and grumbling audibly but indistinctly under his breath as he drips his sodden way to the bar.

“Please tell me she left it with you.”

His hand snatches out to grab the guitar the second it appears, and a certain amount of tension drains from his shoulders as he does.

“Thank you.”

A beat, and then.

"Can I get a towel?"

Teja had liked him much better as a sea cucumber. He had been wondering, upon occasion, what the new creature in the tank even was.

However, this might have been foul play.

So he wanders over, loath as he is to speak with Orpheus as a rule.

"Greetings," he says. "Why were you that creature that graced the tank for the last few days?"

"It did not happen against your will?" Teja enquires.

That is all he wants to know. He's grown wary about magic applied to patrons against their will, by other patrons.

"Was it one of Lily Kane's scientific experiments?" Teja asks.

Like the one that changed Charles Xavier -- he had no complaint, either.

"Huh," Teja says. "Whoever it was, if you were being that interesting, oddly shaped" -- he will not say shaped like what, or comment on its fittingness -- "creature in the tank by your own free will, then it is none of my business."
ostro_goth: (Irritated)

"I do not wish to argue with you again," Teja says. "My personal opinion is not called upon, so I shall not speak my mind on anything now."

He liked Orpheus much better as a sea cucumber.

"And with that, I leave you to it," he adds, nods politely, and walks away.

Eric doesn't see the emergence, but he does pick up on Orpheus suddenly being in the Bar. It's a vampire thing.

And just as suddenly, Eric is there as well.

"Why are you wet?"

"Was the study satisfying?" Eric asks, leaning against the counter.

"You ought to drink something warm."

"Warm mead? It tends to work."

Not mulled wine. Mead is stronger and, in Eric's opinion, it tastes better too. All spicy and sweet from the honey.

Eric orders mead for Orpheus and blood for himself.

The mead arrives in a ceramic mug, steaming.

"Shouldn't it go in the fire?" Eric asks. That's where his people use to pour their drink offerings.

Or onto the ground.

Eric shrugs. "I have little use for gods myself."

And his own offerings fall where they may. Or spatters more like.

"When I lay dying, they were not the ones who came," Eric replies and takes a sip of blood.

"If they do, they are of no concern to me," Eric repeats. "Is the drink to your liking?"

It smells like the kind he used to like. Sweet, warming, and potent.

"If they do, they clearly have no interest in lives besides their own - and so they are of no concern to me," Eric says - and then he changes the topic.

"You have been busy?"

"Are you busy now?"

It's not exactly subtle. On the other hand, Eric rarely tries to be, unless he can see an advantage. And what would it be here?

"That might be a good idea," Eric concedes and adds, with the air of someone who couldn't care less even if he tried, "We wouldn't want you to catch a cold."

There's a soft, musical giggle coming from nearby.

She's never seen him in such a vulnerable position - the effect's quite amusing.

"You can, honey, but it might cost you," she catcalls.
filemyclaim: (*SIGH*. Really?)

Sigh. Men.

"You know," she declares, "I never did mean you harm."

And she does turn to walk away.

Dixie rolls her eyes as she opens her door. "Idiotic's in the eye of the beholder." Never call someone as self-assured as Dixie is stupid - she'd never believe it.

She'd say that music's the food that feeds the soul - even those of us who weren't bred listening to the Gods fiddle about.

But maybe they'll make music together one day.

Maybe...
