The costume Orpheus is gifted with when he comes into the bar tonight is quite simple compared to previous years. Perhaps that is in deference to the conversation he just had.

Whatever the reason, he is grateful, both for the simplicity and for the disguise, such as it is.

Making his way to a booth in the corner, he slides into it, guitar settled across his lap. A passing rat is accosted for a bowl of heady, honeyed wine, and then he places his fingers on the strings of his guitar and...

plays nothing.

There is nothing to play for this.

Orpheus presses his hand flat to Steve's chest. "To ride off into the sunset?"

"Just like Gary Cooper."

"You watched a lot of movies growing up, didn't you?"

"One of the few things I could do that didn't cause an asthma attack."

"Next time you come to visit, we'll go see a film."

"I'd like that." He smiles. "As long as it's not one of mine again."

"I don't think they have those in my world," Orpheus admits. "Something you haven't seen yet."

"Oh, that's right.

"I'm sure there's lots I haven't seen, in that case."

"Tell me what you want to watch a movie about, and I'll find one for you."

Steve smiles a bit. "Cowboys?"

[ooc: ...Brokeback Mountain...]

"I think I can find one or two on that theme," Orpheus says.

[ooc: Hee.]

Steve whispers, "Thank you," into Orpheus's ear and traces along the curls with the tip of his nose.

Orpheus shivers slightly and risks closing his eyes again. "You're welcome, lovely," he whispers.

Steve lays his hand on Orpheus's forehead and coaxes his head back to his shoulder. "Relax, honey."

Orpheus leans against him. "I don't want you disappearing on me."

"I won't. I'm not going anywhere. I'm staying with you."

"All right," Orpheus murmurs.

And after a moment, he adds, "Do you want some wine?"

"Sure.

"It's not that Atlantean again, is it? Not in the mood for that tonight."

"No," Orpheus says, though he feels like he could use some Atlantean himself. "It's wine like we used to have, in my father's halls."

"That sounds good." He moves his hands to Orpheus's back so he can sit up unhindered.

Orpheus waves down a passing rat and asks for another bowl, though he certainly wouldn't mind simply sharing his with Steve.

[ooc: Bedtime.]

"A bowl," Steve says softly, smiling.

[ooc: Good night!]

"Yes, a bowl," Orpheus says. "As wine was meant to be served."

"I've never drunk wine from a bowl."

"Tonight you will learn," Orpheus assures him as the rat returns with a second bowl.

Orpheus lifts his and pours a few drops out onto the table.
