"Harry Percy," he says, taking his hand with a nod.

"First of how many?"

"Nine in total. Three a year for three years."

He whistles. "My tutors ever despaired of me. I could no sooner think of three years of schooling straight than speak to you in Turkish."

David laughs. "I've been in school for twelve years already. This is only the end of it."

[valiantrebel]

"By choice?"

Monstrous!

"For the last year, yes."

[valiantrebel]

"What is't that you do for pleasure, with so much schooling at hand?"

Because yikes, Harry would think any man would need an escape from that.

"The same as anyone, I reckon. Music, going down to the pub or to the cinema...er...that's a bit like the theatre. Spending time with...friends."

He really doesn't think he ought to mention his boyfriend to this one.

Well, don't be so sure. Harry knows what they say about King Richard. It baffles him (he is, instinctually, a tremendous lover of women), but it's something courtly, isn't it? Great love between men? As far as he's concerned, it's just something that happens in the halls of power.

"When I first came here, I spoke with a lady whose only use for horses was leisure. I think I'd know not what to do with myself in her world, or yours, if you'll grant me pardon."

Well. He'd get into fights. Those are a good diversion. But that's a pretty universal constant, that Harry Percy pisses people off.

David laughs a bit at that. "Nothing to pardon. I'm sure I wouldn't know what to do with myself in your world either."

[valiantrebel]

"Court ladies, fight wars, grieve parents, manage tenants, ride and hunt, seek merriment?" His eyes twinkle -- yes, they totally do. "I cannot say whether there's much room for plays, though. Unless it be a passion play, I've little enough knowledge of the stage."

David ducks his head a bit in the face of that twinkle. "I've not had much experience with any of those, except perhaps for seeking merriment."
