There is a new(ish) wench inside the bar
Tonight, that's not been seen
Before within this space, and likely
Will not be seen again too soon.
Ned Poins hath known the favour of a god
Upon a feast that suits for suchlike things
And waits to see the outcome of his trick.
Also, fieryTrigon is signed on,
As Poins has not yet found out how
The thing is turned off.-
[[OOC: Thread where Poins is changed still in progress, but I promise we will get there!]]

slowtimed, but had to
She does, however, give a double take at the young woman who enters, her face is familiar, but for the love of her she can't say why.

The cake was surprisingly good-last time she had to make due with stale cake that tasted little better than bread stick dough covered with icing.
She still can't help studying the woman. "Have we met..I swear you look familar somehow."
Bluntness..that was her middle name.

Certainly she and her own brother shared a fair semblance to eachother-before he was killed of course.

"Right..I see the resemblance there." Given her voice, it's clear she's not entirely buying it-the woman reminds her of the men when they're trying to gang up on some poor sap.
Hesitantly, she holds out her hand. "Name's Sonya Blade-yours?"

Sonya returned the grin. "Ned...I think we're friends.." Certainly they weren't enemies and he was easy to talk to. "We share a lot of stories anyway."
"I didn't know women in your era knew of handshaking." Didn't they bow or curtsy in his ear? "Or is this not your first time here?"
Oh hell, it wasn't like she spent all her time in the bar.

The smile remained: if this was a trick it was a damned good one and Sonya decided to see how much (if any) fun could be had.
"He tells tales of this place then? Anything about me?" Because obviously there were so many military women where Ned and Nell (fuck, they might be twins even) were from.
She did have to remind herself that she wasn't a teenager though-if Ned was badmouthing her, she wouldn't be able to get away with punching his nose flat.

So she could only laugh at that. "That there is, he seemed to have a fun time being introduced to modern weaponry as well."
It seemed to be universal almost: men and weapons. Not that Sonya could really blame him in that regard-the M-16 was a very useful and impressive weapon.

Sonya recalled a scene in the movie 'Glory' on such a subject. It was a different era from her own, different weapons, and hell it was a movie-but that one scene still held true.
"Can't say it's the same for me-ironically enough. I love working with the weapons, but I can't say I love it when they're going off all around me." Oh, she did her duty pretty well (if she had to say so) and there was a sort of an addicting adrenaline rush that came with battle, but she couldn't say she really looked forward to fire fights specifically.

"Tell your brother next time he shows up, we should share some stories."
She was curious if he had any battle experience, what their stories would compare to.
It was funny in a way: as a female soldier, she wasn't even allowed in combat, but her field was still open to female soldiers and it was as close to combat as they could get without being 'on the line'.

"So why'd he join the army then? If he's just going to stand back." She was unsure if she should feel anything towards that. True, he spoke of spoils, but was that just reason for joining the army. "Did he feel some loyalty to the general?"
Enough to join, not enough to put it out there.
