There is a new(ish) wench inside the bar
Tonight, that's not been seen
Before within this space, and likely
Will not be seen again too soon.

Ned Poins hath known the favour of a god
Upon a feast that suits for suchlike things
And waits to see the outcome of his trick.

Also, fieryTrigon is signed on,
As Poins has not yet found out how
The thing is turned off.-

"Why must hide, Nell?" he asks, raising a brow at her.

"Canst not guess, Hal?" she grins. "He never spoke of me?"

He thinks for a moment before he looks back at her. "Art thou Poins' sister Nell?" he asks. "Edward's?"

"I might be..." she says, smiling.

"Indeed, mightest thou be, gentle lady? He speaks much of thee."

"Prithee, what doth he say?" she asks, with feigned eagerness.

"He doth say much," Hal admits, with his usual dryness bordering on actual amusement. "But I wouldst not base all notion of thy character on the presumptions of a brother. Truly thy face doth capture my attentions too well to remember them all at present."

Hey, nothing says he can't flirt, does it?

He can flirt, and he can flirt very well!

"So thou wouldst let me speak for mine own self, and listen to that which a wench would say to thee?" she flirts back.

"Aye, I would fain hear thy speech and let it mingle about mine ears as if it were the first words to grace them so," he says, coming to sit by her and smiling.

"What wouldst hear, then?" she says, easily making room beside herself so he may sit quite snug.

"What wouldst tell?" he replies, not minding them touching. "Shy, Nell?"

"No, Hal, never," she says, smiling, and leaning against him, comfortably. "Wouldst thou fain be incredulous, were I to tell thee that none and nothing hath yet caught my heart for keeps, and I've a roving mind, and wand'ring eye?"

"Incredulous, never," he says low, leaning into her.

"And wouldst thou do the same were I to spin the same tale to you?"

She smiles into his eyes.

"Oh, I have heard thy repuration, not only from my brother!"

"And what think thou of my reputation?" he asks, with a quirk of a smile.

"I think that thou art not a stufféd shirt, too sanctimonious and self-enthralled to speak with one lowly as I," she says, "but in its stead an honest princely rogue, and joy to any woman that would fain cross thy path."

"Thou art not lowly," he says, a touch of seriousness in his voice.

"Wouldst kiss me, Nell?"

She cranes her neck, and kisses him, as if this was no novel thing to do, merely a strangely bold one, here where all can see.

Hal takes her chin in his hand, tilting her head as their lips meet.

"Thou kissest," she breathes against his lips, "like the man thou shalt be."

And she returns the kiss, again.

"Is that not a good thing?" he asks, moving her into his lap so he can sit more comfortably.

She shifts quite willingly.

"Tis a most excellent thing, for sooth, thou shalt be as great a man as woman ever knew!" she declares.
