EP: Kate Barlow | Outside, Stables / Main Bar
It's been a long time since Beaut's had the pleasure of startling the bar with her presence. The front door admits the five-foot cowgirl and her mount, obviously on their way someplace else, depositing them smack dab in the middle of the bar.
Beaut snorts.
"Oh, come now. S'good t'be back, ain't it?"
Kate wins an ear twitch for her trouble. With a chuckle, she sets about navigating the tables and chairs — and waitrats, we mustn't forget them. She'll get Beaut resettled out in the stables and check on the stock, and once she's done there she'll find a calendar. Once she knows the date and has stopped to look for messages in the stables, at the board, or with the Bar, she'll settle in for a while.
Then again, it's such a beautiful evening out. Maybe she'll take advantage of the lingering light and give Beaut a proper ride up the mountain path.
[ooc: I'm so sorry for inundating the bar! I did try to space everything out. ~sheepish~ Post open indefinitely; catch Kate anywhere you like, she'll be making her rounds and she's in a great humor.]

Kate gives her an affectionate pat, face tilted up to smile at her. Big brown eyes blink lazily, wondering why they've stopped somewhere where she can't even graze.
"I should get her outside 'fore she gets too antsy, though."

He might tag along.

"I trust things in the stables have been well while I've been out?"

"Thank you, I'm glad you liked 'em."
Beaut pins her ears as a waitrat crosses her path, pausing to chitter something unfriendly. Stamping her hoof, the sound echoes a little more than usual off the wood.
"Easy, Beaut. We're almost home free."

"The comics weren't too confusing or anything, were they? I know my world's not really like yours."

She helps Beaut weave along cleared paths, pulling her head back from the occasional plate of food as they pass by. These are not proper grazing grounds, Beaut.
"I've always loved sittin' with a tome an' figurin' out the way the world works."

She remembers what he told her in the past, about his sister's position. But not all political figures get books written about them in Kate's system.

There is pride in his voice, of course, but not an excess of it. They had help, after all. Or possibly they were the ones helping.

She shoots him a teasing grin. They've reached the back door at last, and sensing familiar ground Beaut's perked and ready to get out of here.

She leads Beaut out, thanking him for holding the door.

Although one thing she might have picked up from the comics is the use of the term "Guardian," the use of the term "hero," and the suggestion that, at least sometimes, they are specific and differing titles. (See mun for details.)

"Are y'plannin' on any sorta celebration t'mark the accomplishment?"

She grins.
"Be sure t'save a place for me."

"Port like the ocean?"

She may have gathered from the comics that one way in which his world differs from Earth is the geographic, or perhaps structural is the better term.
"Port as in travel."
