(no subject)

Things are about to get interesting over by the fireplace.
Once they've got the baton, Claudia wastes no time in grabbing it, opening the canister of goo - "Now's not the time, Joshua, I can get you some to poke at later if you really want" - and getting ready to drop it in.
"I recommend ducking and covering. Definitely covering, but this thing's been bouncing around so long and affecting so many people, the light show's gonna be big."

(Regulus has no idea what in Merlin's name she means, but he covers his eyes regardless; presumably, he'll be fine still sitting on the couch.)

With that, Claudia drops the baton into the goo, puts the lid on the canister, and ducks.

There's a HUGE flash of golden light emanating from the canister; it lasts for fifteen or twenty seconds and ends with a small shock wave.

And with that? The music is gone.
(Well, unless someone turns on the sound system.)

He ticks some things off on his fingers. "It wasn't lethal, it didn't give anyone any lasting problems, we took care of it ourselves before it got too bad, and it was an accident."

"Have fun with your paperwork." He snorts. "Now I just have to finish the last couple chapters of the dissertation."

"Yes. Exactly." Joshua takes a couple deep breaths. "Dear god. Silence has never sounded so damn good." He flops back on the floor and stares up at the roof beams.

"Probably a good idea. Floors aren't the best place to get a good sleep."
