There is a tall, slim young woman at the bar, drinking a Long Island Iced Tea where once she slurped milkshake. (The straws are still pink and glittery though, because sparkles are forever.)

She's sitting on a barstool with her long legs neatly crossed, distractedly reading Peter and Alice.

Oh, and Molly's also wearing boots, gauntlets and a black-and-pink superhero suit.

Atton might be reading over her shoulder. Which is to say he's hanging upside down from the rafters behind her, peering at the book, and possibly planning to steal her cocktail.

She'd jump, but he's not exactly subtle. Or scary.

"I'll swat you, y'know."

"But, but that would be cruel," Atton protests. "You don't want to be cruel, do you? If you are, I'd be - I'd be sad."

"Yes." Molly is very solemn. "Yes, I do want to be cruel."

"But then you would be cruel. That's terrible."

It's as bad as stealing forty cakes, in fact.

"I know!" She beams at him, trying to figure out if she knows him. "It's fun."

(And that's as many as four tens!)

"You are a terrible person and I won't even try to fit my jaws around your head, so you will never know that intriguing mathematical information," Atton says mournfully. "Your life is full of sorrow."

"My life is tragic," Molly agrees cheerfully, completely ignoring the fact that it actually totally is. Because facts are no fun at all, and damnit, she's here to have fun!

"So you should buy me a drink."

Sluuuuuuuuurp.

Atton sniffs.

"I suppose I could. What do you want?"

"'Nother Long Island Iced Tea, please! They're good."

She'll probably buy him the next round, in the interests of fairness. But there's no reason to tell him that yet.

Atton nods, and flips neatly onto the ground, settling into a seat next to her and tapping the bar.

The Long Island Iced Tea appears, along with a glass of rum.

She grins, and raises her glass.

"Cheers...

...Jaq?"

Atton pauses, peering at her.

"Well, I - don't use that name anymore, but yeah."

"It's Molly, you goob. We went to that market together, back when we were both shorter? And I mostly do still go by that."

Mostly.

"And I think I nearly arrested you once, when you were taller and I wasn't."

"Molly?"

Beat.

"You're looking larger than usual today."

Molly just cracks up.

"Oh man, I dunno how the girls stay on their feet around you."

Atton grins at her, leaning on the bar.

Solemnly: "I am as confused about that as you are."

She grins back at him. "Well, I have pretty good balance. So you're probably safe from any more confusion, for the moment."

Mmmm, cocktail. "So what d'you go by these days, then?"

"Oh, good, I was afraid you'd swoon into my arms. It'd be very undignified," Atton says sagely. "I go by Atton these days. It's a long story."

"I was never a swooning type of girl," Molly assures him, equally solemn.

"Which d'you want me to call you?"

"Er, you know, whichever you like is fine."

"Jaq, then," she decides. "Or maybe 'Weirdyface'."

What?

"My face is beautiful and shapely, shut up."

"Your face is kinda wonky, really."

"I am completely non-wonky."
