If anyone asks, Nadine was at a party last night. And, because she can, Natasha is going to make sure that party was way, way more fun than 'Tanya's' waitressing shift.
Mostly, though, she's going to claim a couch, slip off her tennis shoes, and curl her feet up, just because she can.

People can be weirdly idealistic about certain things."

"The difference being that Greenpeace doesn't have unsavory ulterior motives I'm aware of."
Though these days he wouldn't be shocked.

"What about you?" He asks casually, reclining slightly as he looks her over somewhat more closely than before - taking in what tells she gives. "Have you been disenfranchised by the system yet?"

"You start off so idealistic...go to classes, make glorious plans for the future and how you're going to be part of the movement that changes everything.
And then you wake up, and discover the reasons why historically in a number of languages, 'traitor' and 'translator' are actually closely related."
The cynicism and lost idealism are honest enough, despite her hedging a little.
"But it pays the mortgage, and...it's not all bad, or self-serving. It's just..." She shrugs. "A thing to be done, to keep the world spinning, and maybe help a few people along the way."
It's honest, as far as she goes.

"Sounds like a good way to look at things."
Finishing off the last of his drink with a warm swallow that leaves his cheeks the slightest bit rosy, he offers his hand again. "I should probably go," he's in a bit of a mood and time alone with his book would probably do him well; "I'd like see you again sometime... maybe you can show me some new moves."

She stays on the couch until he's gone from view, and then slowly uncurls herself to walk across to the Bar.
She has a note to leave.
[ooc: Thank you so much for tagging in! They are fun. :D]
