"Loyalty can be useful." She notes, pouring herself another glass. "Especially in the face of adversity."

Lack of bread is definitely an adversity.

"We're a tight-knit community," Cecil replies. "Sticking together is what gets us through the hard times."

"What do you do in this town?" After all, she is a child of the Revolution - she knows almost a bit too much about cooperative societies.

Cecil says proudly, "I am an announcer on Night Vale community radio."

Katya blinks owlishly again.

"It is a far-flung community?" She asks, trying to figure out why a community radio service would be kept as an essential job, if things were so difficult.

"Yes. We have a lot of farmers, and newspaper delivery has been ... sporadic. One could even say non-existent."
