Gavroche saw Javert being brought downstairs, and the state he was in, but didn't intervene at the time - because things were in hand and what could he do that hasn't already been offered and refused?

Now, grim-faced, he's watching the infirmary door intently, waiting for someone to come out who he can talk to.

Guppy, who has had a busy weekend, is looking a bit tired. But he comes out while Javert is taking a nap to get some food.

"Guppy." He rises quickly and approaches. "What's the damage this time?"

[guppy_sandhu]

"Hey Gavroche. I can't give you exact details due to confidentiality, but we're looking after him and he's letting us." Guppy says, sitting at the bar to get a sandwich.

[street_sparrow]

"I saw his back for myself", Gavroche admits, shivering slightly at the memory. "Letting you, or not strong enough to stop you?"

[guppy_sandhu]

"Both." Guppy says. "You saw him come down yesterday?"

[street_sparrow]

"Yeah. I've been spending time here every day, another old friend came in dead not long ago, I've been trying to look out for him... but mostly I've been watching Javert. I knew he wasn't all right, whatever he said, but that..."

[guppy_sandhu]

"A number of us have been trying to help him." Guppy says. "But it's taken time to get through to him."

[street_sparrow]

"Do you think you have now? Because I think it's getting worse. He's been starving himself and I'm almost sure he burned his hands. He wouldn't let me heal him but that might just be because he doesn't trust me... And now this."

[guppy_sandhu]

"I've healed the burns." Guppy says. "And he's on a drip."

[street_sparrow]

"And leaving it alone?" Gavroche asks dubiously.

[guppy_sandhu]

"At the moment yes, he's resting."

[street_sparrow]

"It won't last", he predicts sadly. "Not unless you drug him or you really have got through to him."

[guppy_sandhu]

"Would your other old friend be likely to get through to him?"

[street_sparrow]

"Enjolras? Ha. Only if he manages to bring him back to himself by arguing with him."

[guppy_sandhu]

"Hm, probably not going to work just yet."

[street_sparrow]

"But maybe later", Gavroche says thoughtfully. "When we've already got him part of the way."
