The door swishes--hey wait, swishes? open.

For a second, a rather bemused-looking woman in Starfleet reds stands on the threshold. "... Oh. In here?"

Then she's inside, and the door is swishing closed again. Gotta love sliding wall panels. She'll be making her way toward Bar presently.

For all Sariel Rager knows, it's been a week since the bar last turned up. No, she hasn't looked outside or at the calendar yet.

If the lady with the black pip on her collar is a friend, she'll welcome catching up with you. If she's a stranger, chances are pretty high she won't turn you away either.

"Our vessel can be used for warfare," Sariel says carefully, "and has been, though we would prefer it weren't. Starfleet is an organization of explorers." Not that the Enterprise hasn't had her share of skirmishes. Sariel's expression might speak to this, even if she doesn't do the same aloud.

Beat. "That degree of unmonitored time travel? Is that safe?" She doesn't say 'is that wise'. All other reasons aside (not her place to go that far without further knowledge), Leela essentially did that much a second ago.

"This is a noble mission," Leela says, nodding. "The ancestors of the Sevateem were settlers and explorers.

"Traveling with the Doctor is never safe. But together we have done much good for the universe."

"We certainly try to make it a noble mission," Sariel agrees, "and keep it one." Beat. "Traveling on the Enterprise is rarely safe either, but... your mission sounds similar to ours, at least in some ways."

Leela gives a sly smile. "I do not think 'mission' is the right word for what we do," she says. "A mission is much more organized."

"Your--" just a second while she decides on the right word, "--travels are that much more spontaneous? All of the time?"

"They certainly seem to be," Leela says.

"I think the TARDIS knows where to go, though."

"The TARDIS," Sariel is slightly more careful over the unfamiliar name, "knows where to go? Your vessel?"

Now she's curious again.

"Yes," Leela says. "She has a mind of her own. I've spoken to her here in Milliways."

"Your ship is... actively sentient? And comes here independent of her crew?" OH, now she's downright fascinated, Leela. Look out.

"Her mind had been placed in a human body when I encountered her here," Leela says. "She did not know how. It must be something that happens in my future - or at least the Doctor's."

She frowns. "I hope she returns safely to her old form. It sounded as though she and the Doctor were in danger."

"That sounds... extremely disorienting," Sariel says, and can't help a sympathetic grimace. "At the very least. Is she likely to need assistance here?"

The basic sort of 'what do I do, I'm in a body that isn't mine!' sort of assistance, she means. Leela can't entirely know that, but some of Sariel's meaning might carry in her reaction.

"Her mind works in strange ways," Leela says. "I suppose as you would expect it to - she is a machine that travels through time. She does not experience the world as you or I do."

Her frown deepens. "I do not know if she needs help, apart from getting her old body back. She did not ask for any help from me."
