There is a lady in the rafters, dressed all in black and purple, a mask covering part of her face. She's using the rafters as balance beams, practising a range of acrobatics that, if she should slip, would leave her with some serious injuries. But this is the Huntress. She won't slip. The rafters of a bar are nothing so dangerous as the windy rooftops of Gotham City.

There is also a man in the rafters. One who has been avoiding the horde of kids below. And is pretty sure that they would be better than talking to the woman he's been avoiding for weeks.

But it was inevitable, wasn't it?

"Er, hello."

She doesn't slip. Doesn't even wobble. Instead she goes stil - perfectly still - for a few seconds before slowing lowering her fee back to the rafters and breaking position.

"Hello," she says coldly once she is no longer contorted perilously above the bar.

Well, this is awkward. Not to late to go back down and play with the kids, right?

"How are you?"

A shrug.

"I'm good."

Oh good. This will be just as hard as he expected.

"And Renee?"

"She's fine."

Does he know they moved in together? Did Renee tell him? What does it matter. It's none of his damn business.

Damn, it's difficult when your girlfriend's best friend is your ex.

"So we going to keep doing this for the rest of our lives here?

"Or do I get to apologize, at least?"

No reason to beat around the bush. He's blunt. She's blunt.

"I was starting to wonder if that word was in your vocabulary."

She crosses her arms over her chest.

"Go ahead. It couldn't make it worse."

Probably.

He smiles for just a second.

"I am sorry. For being a total asshat. For making an incredibly insensitive and crass joke. For treating your relationship with my closest friend in creation like something funny.

"In short, for being good old Vic Sage." He wonders if being alive again means being that jerk again, too.

For a few moments she just stares at him. For a few moments, this could go either way...

"For Renee's sake," she says coolly, "you're forgiven."

"Thank you." He's relieved. Mainly because he knows how hard she can punch.

"Renee will appreciate that, I am sure."

In one corner of the rafters, Carlotta is balancing carefully on one hand.

She has to do this for a certain amount of time a day, to maintain the muscle strength...

Ahhhhhhh someone with the same idea as her. Great minds think alike, clearly.

After a while, she stretches her body up tall, then does a string of somersaults across the beams to the other side of the bar.
