party post: hail the conquering heroes | outside, tree fort
Anyone in the main barroom or out by the lake today will be treated to an odd sight. Dozens of girls, shouting, squealing, running through the backdoor and across the lawn, arms laden with all manner of treats — and one boy, tied up, pulled along with them.
The gang makes their way to the forest, where a tree fort rises above the ground. It's quite a fancy fort, equipped with slingshots, water balloon launchers, and other weaponry and defenses. The interior paneling has some Cybertronian script on it. There's a tire swing outside fashioned from a tractor tire, a crow's nest, and the entrance may be had by ladder, drawbridge, or manual elevator. Inside there are comics, pudding snacks, and the sort of things you'd expect to see in a tree house. It was clearly designed by somebody who really loved their gadgets, and knew what they were doing.
Kate and Natasha have seized the property. Being outlaws in need of a hideout, and all.
"This way!"
Natasha is already inside, leaving all entrances open to the returning posse and offering cover from anyone who might be following. Once the snacks are secured and the prisoner is dealt with, everyone can breathe a huge sigh of relief.
And enjoy the fruits of their labor.
[ooc:give us one minute to set up some thread headings before tagging We're open for business! This post is wide, wide open to everyone — boy, girl, adult, child, animal, mineral, etc. The girls will be inside the tree fort, but it's completely visible from the ground for any who want to stop by and see what's going on, or sneak their way in. ^__^

Re: Taunting Tommy
"Nope! Not yet!" he says glibly. "And have you thought about lettin' me go?"
He tries not to look too interested in what she has in her hands.
Re: Taunting Tommy
"No?" What would she, what?
Strange boy.
"You'll just go to the adults and tell them everything, and then we wouldn't be able to share all the nice things! And that would be a tragedy, and a horrible injustice," she tells him, voice managing to be both stern and earnest.
Re: Taunting Tommy
"Look, I don't even know who to tell 'cause I don't even know who's even in charge of this place. And anyways," he adds as a quick afterthought, "you could always bribe me to keep my mouth shut."
Re: Taunting Tommy
"Like with these?"
Re: Taunting Tommy
And he casually shrugs a shoulder.
"Mmmmaybe. What else you got?"
Re: Taunting Tommy
"We have everything. And alllll the share. But you're a prisoner, and you stole things for yourself."
Re: Taunting Tommy
He starts on the defensive, but cuts himself off. Then more levelly, he continues,
"I was only gonna-- put the stuff back."
The statement is just a tad unconvincing.
Re: Taunting Tommy
"Put it back where? In our stash, or back in the kitchen?"
Re: Taunting Tommy
"In the kitchen."
The mutter comes out of the corner of his mouth.
"Not like it woulda made any difference 'cause you coulda stolen it right back anyways."
Re: Taunting Tommy
"We weren't stealing. We were liberating."
Re: Taunting Tommy
"Oh, Jeezus Christ, there's that word again, liberating. That's what that other girl said, you were liberating the ice cream. No, you weren't, you were stealing it. Now you try explaining it to me this time."
Re: Taunting Tommy
It's not fair that the sweets and ice-cream and chocolate were being locked up. Then you have the capitalists and grown-ups controlling it, and keeping it for themselves. So, we liberated it, so everyone can have what they'd like equally."
Re: Taunting Tommy
...this liberating thing actually sounds like a good idea.
Brow furrowed, he gives her a questioning look.
"What's a capitalist?"
Re: Taunting Tommy
"Bad people," she comes up with. "Like aristocrats and landlords who charge too much for rent and things. There's a landlord here! I heard someone talking about him, but no one even sees him! That's not very fair."
Beat.
"Would you like some chocolate?"
Re: Taunting Tommy
Tommy's family definitely wasn't rich. In fact it's no easy task raising kids on a firefighter's salary. You couldn't always have that toy for Christmas, and dinners don't often end with dessert.
Speaking of dessert...
Tommy nods, his eyes betraying his eagerness.
Re: Taunting Tommy
She eyes him, considering.
"I'm not untying you. Yet," she adds. "Sooo," she opens the chocolate bar, and breaks it into thirds, before offering him one at mouth-height. "Bite my fingers, and I'll thump you."
Re: Taunting Tommy
But, at Natasha's offer, he makes a petulant face.
"I ain't gonna bite you 'cause I ain't gonna eat outta your hand."
Re: Taunting Tommy
Okay, Tommy.
She'll just eat it herself.
Because, hah, he thinks she'll untie him? Nope.
Re: Taunting Tommy
"Hey, wait--"
Sad whiny puppy face, activate!
"C'mon, just untie me, why don'tcha? I ain't gonna do nothin'. Promise."
Re: Taunting Tommy
(And Fluffy is much cuter than Tommy)
"Whatcha promise on?"
Re: Taunting Tommy
To drive it home, he squirms a little.
"The rope's starting to hurt."
Moar Face?
Re: Taunting Tommy
"One moment," she says at last, and gets up and runs off. She returns shortly with her dart gun, and another piece of rope. The rope she uses to tie on of his arms to a pole (...not that well, to be honest), and then she unties one of his hands. Cautiously, she backs up, her gun firmly in hand.
No chocolate is passed over just yet. She watches for his reaction.
Re: Taunting Tommy
The dart gun gets a 'wtf' look from him, and despite the growing indignation at still being trussed up, he lets her do her thing without much protest. When she stands back, he exhales another long-suffering sigh.
"Happy now?"
Re: Taunting Tommy
"Can you catch?"
Re: Taunting Tommy
"Pfff, of course I can catch. Hell, I can catch with one hand tied behind my-- oh."
