In which Joshua finally goes home.]

Joshua walks through the door, holding an ice pack to the left side of his face. Underneath the ice pack, were he to put it down, is a fairly decent-sized shiner.

He claims a table, orders a Red Bull, and pulls out his laptop to work on a few reports. He wouldn't mind company.

"What happened to you? Or would it be who?" Gavroche asks, somewhere between amusement and mild concern.

"Never climb in bed with someone who's half asleep and knows martial arts." Joshua makes a face. "I startled my girlfriend."

[street_sparrow]

"...your girlfriend hits hard." He sits down. "I can heal it for you if you want."

It's only a bruise, though, so there's no urgency.

"She does. Probably a byproduct of the job." He shrugs, and puts the ice pack down on the table, away from his papers. "Actually, if you wouldn't mind, that would probably be pretty useful. Would make Helena feel less bad, and being able to see is always good."

[street_sparrow]

He sucks in a sympathetic breath on getting a proper look at the damage, and nods.

"No trouble. I'm good at healing and the minor stuff's easy."

[damncompass]

"Still. Thanks." Joshua sits a bit akwardly as the black eye is surveyed. It's not too bad, just lovely colours of purple.

"I'll get your lunch for this."

[street_sparrow]

"I'm not allowed to take payment." He flashes a quick grin. "But if you want to buy me lunch between friends, that's something else."

He reaches out to touch the black eye, as lightly as he can, and concentrates. It's not long before the bruising recedes.

Joshua laughs. "That I can certainly do."

He's a bit startled as the pressure and swelling goes away. "Sheesh. That's a cool thing."

"That's wizardry." He smiles, satisfied with a job well done. "Easing pain, resolving conflict, keeping Life running smoothly, it's what we do."

[damncompass]

"Must be nice. I mean, we try to preserve life back home, but it's not as much healing as running in and snatching things that are creating havoc." Saving the world rather than preserving it.

"What other kinds of things do you do with that?"

[street_sparrow]

"I can do almost anything, with a good enough reason and if I can find a way to get the energy for it. Minor works, I can spare the energy from myself, but the bigger it is, the more difficult."
