Javert does not know how lucky he was to have avoided both the zombie invasion, and Halloween. So he does not feel any particular gratitude at coming up from the office, and finding the place entirely normal. He just deposits a large box on his corner table, sets a pad of paper next to it, a fountain pen on top, and an inkstand to the side.
That done, a rat brings bread and water, and a napkin that directs him to a package left for him at the bar. He does not notice this at first, because he is preoccupied. He sits, picks a random sheet of paper out of the box, stretches his fingers out and begins to transcribe it to proper paper. In proper handwriting. With proper headings, and a uniformity of style. Because someone knows how to keep account of things, unlike anyone else in the security office.
He came up because it was time to eat, but apparently there is no time to stop for repast. If anyone cares to dispute that, they may go and see the state of the office for themselves.
[OOC: Open until the weekend.
ETA: but for tonight, I must beg slowtime for sleep. Am around to continue all tomorrow. Night, all, and thanks to those who tagged. <333]

"I have nothing to hide," he replies, coolly despite the sudden defensiveness he feels. "Not here, in any case, and certainly not from you. However, my personal dealings with so-called law and order in my own time have been less than pleasant, due to the fact that I and my ilk tend to offend most people's precious and delicate sensibilities simply by existing."
An impassive shrug, and a slow curl of his lips.
"If I am to subject myself to punishment, I'd rather the consent was mutual."

His sensibilities are certainly not enjoying the restraint he is forcing on them.
'Particularly when you say things like that.'
This man should meet Ganymede. They would get on famously.

A rather dreamy expression passes quickly as he recalls the young rookie who came with all the bright and shiny trappings of his position, particularly the handcuffs.
He always did like a man in uniform.

He has excellent self-control. At least, he used to.
'If the German police like to engage in perversion, it is not my affair.'

"I never said it was. And if I do eventually happen to raise your ire, be sure to let me know because I would hate to miss it."
Oh look, he had a cigarette lighter in his pocket after all.
"Shall I leave you to your paperwork, darling?" he asks coyly through an exhalation of smoke.

His ire is usually quite obvious.
'I simply do not think you capable of raising it.'
Javert spreads his hands, and almost smiles. 'You may do as you will, monsieur. I am indifferent. Go, or stay; it is all the same to me.'

His ire must be incredibly huge.He bites the inside of his lip with a flush of amusement and a quick downward flicker of his eyes.
"Oh, I'm quite adept at raising things, my dear," he murmurs before taking a drag off his cigarette.
"I should leave you now, for my benefit as much as your own. After all, we both have work to do."

Oh yes. And it has been known to last for years. He frowns a little at the direction of the man's gaze, and then internally sighs.
'Very well.'
His tone very much suggests that what the man does can hardly be considered a real job.
'No doubt we will meet again. Good evening.'

He'll be in his bunk. The Emcee never seeks to make enemies. It only seems that his method of making one's acquaintance is to keep poking them to see how much he can get away with.
"Mm, I'm sure we will," he purrs. "Auf Wiedersehen, darling."
As he slinks away, he mentally adds Javert to his list of suitable playmates.
