Notice -- werewolf warning of the month

Attention all denizens of Milliways!

Beware The Were-Wolves!!

Tonight (Monday, December 16th), tomorrow and on Wednesday night are the three nights around the full moon, when the wolfmen may roam freely outside, as is their right.

Do not go out while the moon is out, so you will not be bitten! In this, we cannot and would not protect the unwary; instead we must sternly warn all of you: - remain inside where you are safe as ever, and within the protection of Security!

After he has posted that note, Teja goes to sit at a table, with some ledgers in which he is tallying lists. A small grey cat is trying to keep him from work.

He shall, however, be willing to speak to all comers -- especially if they distract the cat.

Jay laughs and comes over, dangling a length of leather thong in front of the cat to distract him from going in Teja's way. "So I take it you put up the warning every month?"

"Especially if I know there are newcomers," Teja says. "Greetings!"

"Yeah, I meet a couple of them." He teases the cat, happy to play. "So, you make this part of your job here? To keep people safe?"

The catch tries to catch the leather thong, jumping with enthusiasm.

"I see it as part of my Security duties, to make sure that all shall have their dues, were-wolves and others," Teja says.

Jay keeps the Count playing, letting Teja have access to his books again. "To make sure everyone's safe, including the werewolves." Jay hums, approving greatly. "Hey, are you still interested in taking commissions?"

"I ever am," Teja says. "What would you wish to have?"

He pulls a scrap of paper from the inside pocket of his jacket and passes it to Teja. Sketched out on it are plans for a sliding knife mechanism and wrist sheath. "Think you can make me the parts?"

Teja looks at the sketches for a while. "This would hinge out from here?" he guesses. "Yes, I can make that -- knife, mechanism, sheath and all."

"Yeah, so it slides out when you put pressure here." He points out the mechanism and the trigger point. "I need a matching pair. No great hurry."

Teja nods. "I can make them, but I would need precise measurements. May I?"

Jay shrugs off his jacket and holds out his somewhat scarred forearms and wrists.

From his belt pouch, Teja takes a piece of string with knots in regular intervals, and measures Jason's arms, taking notes in the margin of his ledger.

Jay stays still and lets Teja take the measurements he needs. He nods and heads over to the bar, putting a generous amount for the work on Teja's tab. "Let me know if you need more. I trust you and I know these things can be tricky."

Teja nods, and takes more notes.

"How long would you wish the blades to be?" he then asks.

Jay holds his hand out and gestures a distance past the tip of his fingers. "Bout that? It's a stupid thing and probably bloody useless in a fight but I've always wanted a pair."

"It does sound like a good idea for an ugly fight, to me," Teja says.

[runningred]

"Palm strike when you least expect it." Jay grins. "Yeah, I'm keen."

[ostro_goth]

"And you shall have your weapons," Teja promises.

[runningred]

"Thanks Teja." He give the Count another quick pat and puts him down. "Let me know if you need any other measurements or anything."

[ostro_goth]

"No, I can work from that," Teja says, shuffling his papers aside to make room for Count.

"Thanks for that." He grins as Count makes himself very comfortable. "I'll see you round, Teja."

"I shall see you," Teja answers, nodding farewell before turning back to his work.-
