Winter Wonderland - 12th Night Party!

Father Christmas returns from the mountains this 12th night, leading the chained Krampus and his former captives. Some of them are triumphant, some hurt and limping, some are huddled with their friends who have been searching for them.

Those entering the bar today will find one corner of it decked out in a minimalist theme of white, silver, and blue snowflakes. Warm, enchanted snow drifts down from the ceiling, disappearing before it alights on the floor, but piling up on the window sills and mantle of the fire.

Snowmen dance outside on a glassy floor, circling and swaying in lines. Should one want a fancier change of clothes after an ordeal in the labyrinth, it'll magically be provided at the door.

[OOC: Welcome to the Winter Wonderland party! It's officially open through the weekend--hope you enjoy!]

Sunshine chuckles at his theatricality.

"Alas, the dough won't knead itself. Not unless Charlie got one of those kneading machines like PrimeTime has - but I'd not stand for that. Those're pretty much beneath contempt."

"So easy to overdo things with a machine," Dr. Lecter agrees.

"It is," she agrees. "Kneading by hand means you're paying better attention to the dough. It's far to easy to start doing something else when a machine is taking care of the hands-on part for you."

PrimeTime's baking can't hold a candle to hers, Rae knows it.

"And the machine can't notice and ccorrect minute deviations," Dr. Lecter says.

"I'd likely be suspicious of any bakery machine able to notice such details," she nods, smiling slightly as she sips her tea. "We ran into a self-aware, automated dry-cleaners, in the labyrinth. Wanted to take over the world."

"Though, how it would do that, I have no idea."

"That sounds like a very bizarre nightmare," Dr. Lecter says. "Dry cleaners. Really."

"Extremely bizarre," Rae agrees. "We rode across the moving racks of clothes to get to its main computer hub, and Jemma very handily took it apart."
cook_the_rude: (Do you have to be that silly?)

Dr. Lecter snorts with laughter.

"The labyrinth has a very strange sense of humour," he says.

Rae smiles, sipping her tea. "I'll say so. We did run into a minotaur, as well."

"What was your experience in there like?"

"Sideways," Dr. Lecter says. "Gravity behaved very oddly at first."

How criminal of gravity, breaking its own law. >_>

"Gravity was sideways, or you were sideways to gravity?" she asks, fascinated. Actually, once she thinks about it, both of those options mean essentially the same thing. "I assume there was climbing involved?"
cook_the_rude: (This is actually amusing)

"Yes, and yes," Dr. Lecter says, smirking.

"Hopefully climbing up - climbing down would be even more precarious," she remarks.

"Seems like the experience was different for everyone, though we were all left in pairs. I'm surprised no groups ran into each other in there."

"I would have loved to see how Javert and Valjean managed without strangling each other," Dr. Lecter says. "I offered my partner, young Noriko, that she could try if it made her feel better."

"Did everyone have those moments?" Rae chuckles. "Guess it's understandable, in an already stressful situation."

She'll admit to wanting to knock the scientist over the head, once or twice, from all the contradictions, and the snide remarks while they were trying not to be overheard.

"Apparently, they did," Dr. Lecter says. "But it seems everybody survived those impulses, even our favourite 19th century Frenchmen."

"I'm glad everyone seems to have escaped mostly unscathed, apart from superficial scrapes and bruises. The idea that a patron could just... disappear into the labyrinth and not come back is one sure way to ruin the holidays. I heard they're trying to get a complete list of those abducted, just to make sure everyone got out again."

"I think that is sensible," Dr. Lecter says. "People come and go, after all."
