Winter Wonderland - 12th Night Party!

Father Christmas returns from the mountains this 12th night, leading the chained Krampus and his former captives. Some of them are triumphant, some hurt and limping, some are huddled with their friends who have been searching for them.

Those entering the bar today will find one corner of it decked out in a minimalist theme of white, silver, and blue snowflakes. Warm, enchanted snow drifts down from the ceiling, disappearing before it alights on the floor, but piling up on the window sills and mantle of the fire.

Snowmen dance outside on a glassy floor, circling and swaying in lines. Should one want a fancier change of clothes after an ordeal in the labyrinth, it'll magically be provided at the door.

"Perhaps one day. You may not be quite ready for it yet - but it's always rather nice to know somewhere belongs to you."

"Somewhere belongs to you." He repeats with a sigh. "Worth trying out I guess. First time in my life I have the money to do it, I guess."

"Then find a place you love - that spot in Malta, for example - and make a home there. Nothing says you must stay there all the time, but it would be there for you to return to."

"You make it sound so easy." Jay laughs, a little bitterly. "I'm going to need to hide it pretty well. Buy it thought a couple of shell companies." He muses, clearly already thinking through the logistics of it.

"Or pay in cash", he suggests. "Then it would be hard to trace with little need for subterfuge."

[runningred]

"Could do. I guess Bar is clever enough to be able to turn my assets into cash." He drums his fingers slowly. "Malta's a honest place but I'm sure I can find someone willing to deal without questions."

[1stwitness]

"For a large amount of money", Ichabod says wryly, "people will do a great many things, and this is a rather harmless one as they go."

[runningred]

"More for their benefit than mine. I don't want anyone else getting hurt because of me." And until he squares things with the League (if that's even possible) anyone associated with him is in danger.

[1stwitness]

"That too. And, I find, people in small communities - once they have accepted a person as one of them - will do anything necessary to protect that person. Keeping quiet about your presence would be easy."

[runningred]

"Some communities, yes. Others... it takes a while to be accepted as a local. I guess it's worth a try." And it never hurts to have a safe house stashed here and there.

[1stwitness]

"If you don't try", Ichabod agrees, "you will never succeed."

[runningred]

Jay smiles warmly and rests a hand on Ichobod's shoulder. "I'm glad you're back."

[1stwitness]

"Likewise." He reaches over and squeezes Jason's free hand. "Do try to get some rest tonight."

[runningred]

Jay laughs warmly. "Yeah, now I know you and Rae are safe, I'll be able to sleep."

[1stwitness]

"Good. It will make me feel much better if you can."

Shameless emotional blackmail, never.

[runningred]

"As long as you promise to rest and take it easy too. Give yourself time to recover, hey? And your lady wife time to be glad to have you back."

[1stwitness]

"I promise." He means it. "I have no intention of rushing straight back into the fray at home."

[runningred]

"I'm glad to hear it." He squeezes Ichobod's shoulder and lets go. "Look after yourself and rest well. I'll see you around."
