Javert is in his normal back corner of the bar. It was pouring rain when he finished in the forge for the day, so he came here instead of going out into the woods. He is surrounded by paper, and the odd ruler, and he is drawing something with precision on one sheet - only to finish it, shake his head and toss it away, before taking a new piece and starting again.
This looks like it has been going on for some time, and may continue the rest of the day. And possibly night. A distraction before his hand falls off would perhaps be welcome.
[OOC: Open UNTIL THE END OF TIME. Or next Wednesday. Whichever comes first. <3
ETA: YOU FABULOUS PEOPLE. *flings love at* I must crash, but it's been a blast. Am around all day tomorrow to continue. <3]

'I am not speaking like a pony.'

'You are,' he mutters, trying not to appear flustered.
'You sound like a young girl. Are you a girl?'

'I am Javert.'
Is he supposed to touch the hoof? He only touches hooves when he is picking them out, or cleaning the outside.
He inclines his head instead, but only because his initial reaction may, to some people, have been considered rude.

"So, um, you said you were drawing a church?"

'...I suppose horses do not go to church.'

'It is like...going to church.'
What else is there to compare it to?
'Do you not believe in God, then? You must believe in something. Everyone does, if they are decent.'

He envisions some of the princesses of France. No...no one should worship them, and this coming from a Royalist.
'Balance. Well, that is something. Disruption of the normality of things is to be avoided, of course.'

Indeed, he does not manage not to.
'Is that so?'

He snorts.
'Are they made of hay?'

'But of course they do. I am ridiculous for not considering it immediately.'

"Why, what does your 'god' do?"
no subject
'What do you mean, what does He do? He is God. He is everywhere, He created everything. What sort of question is that?'
And he does believe it, even if his relationship with the Almighty makes him a little uncomfortable at present.

'Even if He walked among us, the eyes of man would not be worthy to look upon Him.'
Surely this should be obvious?

'Of course He is everywhere, but that does not mean he is visible. He is in everything He has created. We walk through his artistry, and must thank him for it every day.'
Never mind that he has never noticed much beauty around him in his life - but there, he was born to serve, not to appreciate objects like a weak-minded fool.
'He gave us the world, and then He gave his son, who died for our sins. What have your gods given?'
