Since she's still in the recovery stage of illness, it might not be a good idea to sit out in the chilly air, but Rae bets the sunlight will do her more good than the cold will do damage. She'll risk it. Besides, she has tea to fortify her.

Rae sits out on the steps in the sunlight, soaking it in. Behind her, she has left the doors to the kitchens open to let the fresh air through - something has left a good bit of the bar smelling of garlic and various scented air fresheners, and it's going to take time to dissipate.

Dr. Hannibal Lecter emerges from the door to the main bar, closes it, and removes the surgical mask he was wearing.

Then, he takes off his jacket and shakes it in the fresh air of the garden.

"Hello, Rae," he says. "Apparently, something regrettable happened inside the bar the other day."

"Good morning," Sunshine replies with a slight smile. "Apparently so. If it's still lingering like that days afterwards, I'm really glad I wasn't there when whatever it was happened."

"How are you feeling?"

"Something like a garlicsplosion," Hannibal says, "followed by inept cleanup with air fresheners, mostly pine or lemon scented. Whoever thought to mix those scents?"

He shudders threatrically.

"I'm glad the cold is still lingering a little, but I know who am again, at least."

"Don't know about the garlic, but I think the air fresheners might have been the rats," Rae says, sipping her tea.

"Yeah, my throat's still sore, but I'm me, so I can't complain. There's a fresh pot of tea, if you'd like a cup."

"Thank you," Dr. Lecter says, and helps himself to tea. "I believed I was some architect from Copenhagen, and then I was one of King Arthur's knights, in a way. That was odd."

"Jacob, and Tristan," Rae nods, smiling slightly. "I remember them. In the short time you were Tristan and I was myself, I was half-tempted to ask if he'd ever met Merlin. One of my ancestors was supposed to have been his teacher."

"I spent most of the past two weeks thinking I was a... very successful con-artist. And then later, a very self-aware aviatrix."

"I do remember both of them," Hannibal says. "Especially Edith was rather interesting. Even if Jacob was in no shape to appreciate her fully."

"Edith was..." Rae starts to say, but gives up, making a slight face.

"You know, she was lying the whole time? Edith's not even her real name - just an image she'd crafted for herself, so she could gain others' trust."

Dr. Lecter shakes his head. "Jacob was so gormless," he says. "His perceptions still cloud my memory of that time."

Rae didn't think Jacob was gormless, but she can't say that the Edith and Amelia's perceptions haven't messed with her own memories.

"He was nice, though, for a hallucination," she says, smiling faintly. "And he called me Sunshine."

"Edith just... I understand why she lives the ways she did - does? - did, but that doesn't excuse it."

"Yes, understanding rarely supplies justification," Hannibal says. "I am glad you enjoyed Jacob's company, though. I think he liked you as well."

"I liked just about all the hallucinations I met, really," Rae smile slightly. "Though I have a... solid list of people to apologize to. Edith just likes pushing buttons."

"She didn't push Jacob's," Hannibal assures her. "And your mind was infected; it wasn't really your own fault."

"Jacob was like, the one exception," Rae answer, wryly. "In just about every other conversation, either she tried to piss people off, or she tried to flirt with them to the point of discomfort - she just liked having that kind of control."

"I'll still go around and apologize, make sure everything's okay - most of them are friends of mine, and I want to be able to look them in the eye."

"That is probably a good idea, to save yourself any future awkwardness that might divide you from your friends," Dr. Lecter agrees.

"Yeah. Tommy was embarrassed as hell at all the unsubtle flirting, even if he didn't notice that Edith was totally thinking of him as a potential mark. She also wound Teja into a big gothy ball of anger, and Jason's probably not going to look me in the eyes for days..."

Augh, such a mess. And it's not even the worst.

"All of that is... fixable, at least."

Part of it is likely going to get worse.

"And what isn't?" Hannibal asks.

Rae grits her teeth for a moment, trying to figure out how to word this. "Due to.... a conversation that happened while I was not myself, I'm expecting toxic levels of smug to be directed at me the next time I run into a particular person in the bar."

"Not very good at all," Dr. Lecter says. "What happened, Rae?"

"Edith likes to window-shop," Rae replies, fuming slightly into her tea.

"Not knowing anything about him except that he's tall, broad, and devil-may-care, she set her sights on someone in the bar who can only be described as an enemy of mine. They had a good flirt - and I'm sure he enjoyed it immensely."

"An enemy of yours," Dr. Lecter says. "Not a vampire, by any chance?"

"Yes, a vampire," she says, glancing over in his direction. "Have you encountered one named Eric, possibly?"

People, you meet. Vampires, you encounter.

"Tall, blond, rather rude and not exactly the brightest bulb on the chandelier?" Dr. Lecter says. "I think I have run into him."

"That's the one," she says with a sigh.

"We don't have a good history."

"He is not a good person to have around," Hannibal agrees.
