A vampire, dressed in evening wear fit for San Francisco in the early 1900, heads out of the door.
He's a new Maker, ambitious, strong, and one of the oldest vampires to have settled on the new continent. The new world.
An hour passes. Maybe two.
On the other side of the door, wars are fought, discoveries made. Cars, planes, a man on the moon.
Synthetic blood.
The door opens again.
The vampire entering is wearing jeans, a black wife-beater, and a black leather jacket. And he doesn't notice at first that he is not where he thought he'd be, because he is too busy snarling at someone on the phone.
"When I say Monday, you had better fucking believe that I mean it, or - "
The line goes dead. He looks up.
And then he grins.
"And here I thought you'd just disappeared."
Happy vampire is happy. And hungry.

Here is the priest, for example, giving the vampire his usual side-eye.

How much time has passed anyway?

"It's a good thing we don't share a world then. You would just have been made redundant."

He knows the man detests his presence. That's what makes it fun.
He pulls out a wallet and takes out a passport. Then he hands it over, opening it up.
It appears to be his. And it states that he is a Vampire American.

"Well don't you look positively modern," he chuckles. "Leather is a good look on you."

He admits he likes the black-on-black on the vampire. Nearly more than he liked evening wear.

Ganymede sits back and looks Eric over lazily, carefully taking in the details. "You cut your hair."

"How do you like the rest? "
It's all very tight and black.
He holds his arms out for inspection.

Demeter is enjoying Spring and Milliways when he enters, he's a beautiful man.
She stands up, her linen green dress light on her body as she walks over then frowns, "How long did she disappear?"

And what a shame. There's something tantalising about her. Something very alive.
He smiles. Charmingly.
"A century or so. I thought I'd been barred. Which would have been unfair as I've been on my best behaviour. "
no subject
"Well, the Fates are unfair but they don't control here."

There's something about her scent.
For some strange reason, she reminds him of Orpheus.

He steps into Eric's personal space, running his thumb over the leather of Eric's jacket. "In that outfit, you make me want to build you a bike. Something fast and dangerous."

Most animals get jittery around vampires.
