Guppy is in a good mood today, having heard just before the weekend that he's managed to get the job he was hoping for.

So he's spent the afternoon hiding about a hundred small chocolate eggs around the bar, for people to find. It doesn't necessarily come under his Life Support duties, but hey, everyone likes chocolate.

He has a sign up with some baskets on the table next to him.

Naitachal finds his, behind a group of condiments.

Rhoslyn finds hers next to a mirror.

Eliathanis finds his own behind a bookend, as he's looking for some books to read.

Well, this is interesting.

"What exactly is Easter?" Zak asks, brows raised.

"Mmm, chocolate." Naitachal mumbles, approvingly, after eating his find.

"What are these for?" Rhoslyn asked, inspecting the baskets.

"Collecting eggs in." Guppy says. "There's about a hundred out there."

"...I ate mine." Naitachal murmurs. "Thank you."

"Is it customary to hide sweets on this day?" Rhoslyn asks. "I found one. I think mayhap, I'll not go looking for any more."

"I found one as well." Zak admits. "Thank you."

Especially for the fact it's not magic.

"You're welcome." Guppy says, rather surrounded by questions. "And yes, it's one of the traditions."

Oops, looks like they've overwhelmed him. Or something like it.

"Thank you for your explanation." Rhoslyn smiles. "I believe I and my companions will enjoy taking part in this tradition."

She may take up hiding some 'kenned' chocolate eggs as well and is now dragooning the others into helping her.

*Kenning is the art of creating something from nothing, most often based on an existing template or mental image. She has the egg that she found as a template. This is going to be fun.

When Teja finds a few of them, he gladly collects them -- to give to Egil later.

"Hey Teja." Guppy waves.

"I may take some of these for Egil?" Teja says.

"Help yourself, long as you break them into little bits so he doesn't choke." Guppy says.

"I will certainly do that," Teja says. "He may be trying to smear them everywhere, in any case -- he does that."

[guppy_sandhu]

"Yeah, one of the girls smeared chocolate all over the wall at home." Guppy says. "And both of them blamed the other, which made it tricky to know who to punish. Brooke swore blind that 'Col diddit', Coral swore she didn't and it must have been Brooke."

"If Egil did that, he would likely think he is painting upon the walls, as Pyrrha will," Teja says. "And we would not blame him -- how should he tell the difference? And, knowing Pyrrha, she would fins a way to turn his smears into pleasing art."

"If you don't teach him not to do it, he'll keep doing it." Guppy points out. "Even babies a few months old can understand the word 'no'."

He picks open to eat a chocolate egg.

"And don't forget if you teach him to smear stuff he may decide to do that with the contents of his nappy."

"That would be much less than welcome!" Teja says.

"Yeah. Fortunately none of mine have done that, but I share horror stories with James' mum from Fry's holiday club."

"Excuse me sir, but what are these?" Olivier has a handful of brightly coloured foil covered eggs.

"Chocolate eggs. You have to unwrap them." Guppy says, smiling.

"Oh, I see." He unwraps on with care and smiles. He does love chocolate. "May I ask why they were hidden throughout the bar?"

"So that people would find them and enjoy chocolate." Guppy says. "Also because it's Easter Sunday, and the secular way to enjoy it is to eat lots of chocolate."

"And brightly coloured chocolate is somehow connected with the celebration of Christ's resurrection?"

[guppy_sandhu]

"Er... yeah, I don't know how that works. You could try asking Father Harman, he might know."

"I will. Thank you Doctor. It is very kind of you to share these with everyone. I have grown very fond of chocolate."

"You're welcome, have as many as you like." Guppy says. "How are you?"

"Well there be enough for others also? Perhaps I can bring those I find here to share."

"I am well, thank you. I have been preparing treatments to take back with me. It is much easier to work here where I need not rush."
