Out in the grounds, a young dark haired superhero is is currently putting herself through a punising training schedule. To wit, she is lying on the sand next to the carribean inlet in a bikini, sipping limoncello and reading Atwood.

Life at the End of the Universe is pretty good sometimes.

Jay happens to be out jogging and comes past with a smile, stopping to catch his breath and grab a drink from his water bottle. "You're looking very comfy there."

Helena smiles and nods.

"Uh huh. Nothing like a little sun, sea and a good book."

It's the good book that is the most important part to her. Between her day job as a teacher and her night job as Huntress, reading is something she rarely gets a chance to do back home.

"Sounds like the perfect way to spend the day." Jay smiles as sits down next to her on the sand. "I'm Jay."

"Helena."

"So what brings you to the end of the world, Jay?"

"The door usually." He jokes. "But right now I'm kinda between jobs so building bikes here occupies my time. Yourself?"

A shrug.

"A girl."

It's the classic story. Girl meets girl at the end of the world. Girl likes girl. Girl has identity crisis. Girl runs away and has an epiphany. Girl comes back. Girl gets with girl. Girl never leaves. It's all very romantic.

"Is the young lady someone I might know?"

"Maybe. Bar's only so big after all."

"Okay then." Jay grins, not pushing. "So how's the book?"

"It's good. I wouldn't keep reading if it wasn't," she says with a wry smile.
