Since it's afternoon, Violet doesn't worry about ordering a nice chocolate milkshake. She takes it, along with a bowl of pasta, to sit at a table. She figures she'll find someone to come talk to her.

Shes bored? Seeking someone to talk to? Hey look, it's a Bart! In civvies no less. He seems to be talking to somone, but no one came in with him.

"I swear to god Kon, it's not even an issue. Flash wins, hands down."

"Did you make an invisible friend?" Violet notes, trying not to laugh. And while she manages not to make any noise, her face gives away her amusement.

Bart pauses for a fraction of a second, reassessing, then smiles.

"Well, I've got you, don't i?"

"Yeah but I don't think my name is Kon. At least not last a I checked." Her smile is teasing. "Sit down. I'm starting to like this magic summoning you thing I've got down now."

Bart blushes.

"No, actually, i was talking to Kon-el..er, Superboy, one of my teammates."

He sits.

"You're getting good at it."

"I am. I wonder if this trick would work for other things. Not that you aren't a good thing to be able to summon."

Why was he blushing? Hm. "Is Superboy like Superman?"

Bart nods, shakes his head, then shrugs.

"Kind of? Superboy is his clone, and his designated heir so to speak... If Superman dies, Superboy becomes Superman. It's like how when Granpa Bary died, Wally went from Kid Flash to Flash."

"Hm. So then you're next in line to be Flash?" Very strange. "I guess that's pretty cool. It doesn't work that way for us."

At least she didn't think it did. "So is that why you went from Impulse or whatever your old name was, to Kid Flash? Because the old Kid Flash became Flash?"

Bart flushes, looking away.

"Uhm, no, for a long time, there was no kid flash, just me as impulse, but, well, I... i got injured, kneecapped, and i got kind of tired of being the dumb one, so i , uhm, read the new york library and got a sense of perspective. And changed my name."

Perhaps he's doing it for sympathy knowing she'll reach to give his hand another reasurring squeeze, for that's just what she does. "I'm sorry...you read the whole library though?"

Violet herself liked to read but wouldn't be able to read a whole library. It would take years."

Bart shrugs. He's not doing it for sympathy. But she asked, so he answered.

"It took subjective years, but only a few hours real time. One of the benefits of super speed."

Her hand is removed this time around, in a natural sense. "What do you mean by subjective years?"

Bart trys to explain.

"Well, according to Einstiens theory of relativity, an object moving at light speed is expiereinceing time in a different if coherent fashion as one traveling at normal speeds. That is, somethign which moves faster then the eye can track still has to go through the intervening space, and still has to make the same actions. So, even though to you it might seem as if i instantaneously moved from one point to the other, since my brain is moving at the same speed as my body, I'm actually expieriencing it as if the time has elapsed for me."

Enter Samus, dressed in her blue spacesuit. As usual, she looks a little surprised to suddenly be in Milliways. Also as usual, she gets over this very quickly. Noticing and recognising Violet, she raises a hand in greeting.

Violet smiles, waving back. Samus, the sort-of Super. Violet remembers.

Samus walks over to Violet's table. "Hello."

She looks up from her milkshake. "Hi. Want to sit down?"

Samus nods and does so. "..Violet, do you know how time passes in your reality when you're at Milliways?"

"I was told it doesn't." It better not, because that would be really really bad. And would probably break poor Violet if she even thought it might not be that way.

"It doesn't in mine, either. I talked to someone a.. while ago who knows it does in her reality, though. I wonder why it's different for different people." This has apparently been on the bounty hunter's mind for a little while.

"Wait...so...so time could be passing at my home and I wouldn't know it? But..."

She blinks, her face falling. This...was not good.

Samus now looks faintly awkward. "..you haven't been back?"

No, this was not good. More not good for Violet, of course, but still not good for the somewhat socially inept Samus.

"I can't get back...are you saying my parent's could be at home worrying about me because the bar got me trapped here?"

She dissappears from view. She's that upset.

Samus jumps at Violet's 'vanishing'. "...Violet?"

Wonderful. I shouldn't have suddenly started talking like that.

"I'm still here." The voice comes exactly from where she'd been (and still was) sitting.
