See, there's this thing young people do--usually young people who aren't independently wealthy--called job searching.

Nori's got a job at the moment, yes, but being a barista at a coffee shop is annoying, loud, hectic and low-paying. Which is why she comes into the bar dressed the way she does; in fitted trousers, and a hat to cover her still-mohawked hair, and a sleeveless shirt to be out of the way of her gauntlets. "What, seriously? Now I'm not even allowed to change clothes first?" she mutters, pushing the hat back off her head to run her fingers through her loose hair. "This is going to kill my reputation around here, you know."

She's not saying she likes looking at the possibility of changing her life's direction yet again, but things have been quiet. The X-Men haven't been needed to fight off everything that falls above a three on the Global Weird-Shit-O-Meter, so integrating back into the world is one of the more viable options left.

"Hello, Noriko."

Dr. Lecter is sitting by the fireplace, with a glass of red wine in his hand.

"I like that style."

Her eyes close for a minute. "Hello, Doctor Lecter," she says, changing direction and coming to sit down.

"Yeah, I was going on a job interview. Dressing professionally seemed like a good idea," she says, crossing her legs. She's not entirely professional, as noted by the still-cornrowed hair and the zebra print braces.

"I do like the combination," Dr. Lecter says. "You know, whatever employer is wanting to meet you probably likes to get an idea of you, not grey little zombie wearing a face remotely like yours."

"Because when you look at me the idea of a lifeless anything comes to mind?" she chuckles, taking the hat off and unbuttoning the collar on her shirt.

"I hate working at the coffeeshop, and I have the time on my hands to get a full-time job. I figure if nothing else it'll take up time until something else calls."

"What would you be working as?" Dr. Lecter asks.

"I got an offer from a green energy company," she says. "As a consultant, most likely. But I figured I had the knowledge, at least."

"Because you can zap people with your hands?" Dr. Lecter says.

"Because I've worked with ambient electricity for long enough to know what I'm dealing with," she says, rolling her eyes.

"Rehearsing with me?"

"No, merely wondering what makes you interested in the job," Dr. Lecter says, looking harmless.

"It pays and I don't get shouted at for six hours every other day about how someone's coffee isn't perfect?" she asks.

"That is the one thing no employer wants to hear," Dr. Lecter smirks.

"No, you think? I want to get into it because I think that's what we need, and alternatives to a finite fuel supply will never be a bad investment."

"That sounds much better for a potential employer," Dr. Lecter says.

"Thought you said you weren't rehearsing with me," she says, looking over.

"At least I can dress the part without help."

"No doubt about that, Noriko," Dr. Lecter says.

"I'm not such a plaid fan, sorry," she says, looking at Hannibal's suit.

"You like it?"

"I do," Dr. Lecter says. "It allows me to introduce some colour without becoming garish. The same goes for paisley patterns."

"Yeah, but wearing them together? Where did you come up with that?"

"In India, actually," Dr. Lecter says, with a little smile.

"So bad fashion exists there too?" she asks.

"You don't like combining plaid and paisley?" Dr. Lecter says. "You?"

"Me, I know," she chuckles. "I like sticking with one pattern, personally. Lots of colors, but my mom never let me wear two different patterns. It stuck."

"I'm afraid I will have to take that as a challenge," Dr. Lecter says, with a little smile. "Not plaid and paisley, perhaps. But flowers and polka dots?"

"You have a great imagination if you can see me in flowers or polka dots," she says.

"With the right sort of brightness and slightly off-colour humour to the pattern, I completely can," Dr. Lecter says.
