Shufti looks reasonably well for someone who had a caesarean three days ago.

Since she's not yet allowed to take the twins out of the neonatal unit, she's come to the bar to try and get some non-hospital food. Bar rewards her with a plate of chicken pie, and a large cake with 'Congratulations' on it.

"Thanks Bar." Shufti grins and sits at the bar.

There's plenty of cake for sharing.

This is a completely new face. One who is evidently not shy about hopping on the Free Cake wagon. "Congratulation!" the Balladeer offers Shufti as he takes a slice, assuming by her proximity that this is indeed her cake. "What's the occasion?"

"Thanks, I just had twins three days ago." Shufti says. "Help yourself to cake."

She digs this picture out to show him.

"That's Brian, and that's Nathan." Nathan has a little oxygen tube on at the moment. "They're being kept in for a week or two because they're a little early, but they're doing okay."

He leans over to look at the picture eagerly. Like many normal people things, looking at someone's baby pictures is something he's never done before. "How nice! Congratulations!"

"Thanks. I'm Shufti, I don't think we've met."

"No, I just wandered in here a couple days ago. Figured I'd give myself a little bit of downtime before I headed back to work." The Balladeer offers her his hand with a smile. "I'm the Balladeer."

"Is that your name or your title?" Shufti asks, shaking the hand.

He just shrugs. "It's what they call me back home. At least, it's my favorite out of all the things they have called me - 'That Guitar Guy' really doesn't have the same ring, you know?" So you might say it's a title that is a name, simply because he hasn't got one of those to call his own. He doesn't mind it, though; he is the one who sings the songs.

"Fair enough." Shufti nods. "I picked up the name 'Shufti' in the army."

"You were in the army?" Oh, that's interesting! "I was just with some Army guys. Didn't really get a chance to chat, though." Because they tried to burn down the building he was in. They seemed nice though!

"Back in my home world, Borogravia." Shufti says. "Not since I moved to America."

They like their soldiers to be taller than five foot two, for some reason, probably because unlike Borogravia most of their male population isn't dead.

"Never heard of Borogravia." Which isn't at all surprising, he supposes, not with so many people from so many different places. "What's it like?"

"It's on the Discworld. It's a war-torn, famine country."
