The report on Javert's disappearance hasn't thrown up any exact answers as to what is going on. Guppy still means to speak to the priest, at some point, but for now the report is sitting there staring accusingly at him.
In the meantime, he has his sign up on the table.

"Doctor Sandhu," he says. "Good afternoon."

He gets his report out. "Did you notice any signs of distress from Javert before he left? Within what you're allowed to tell me, of course."

When he gets to the door, he knocks, before trying to see if it's open.
"Hello?"

Guppy crouches next to Jay, feeling for a pulse.
"Jay? Can you hear me?"
He looks at the waitrats.
"If he's taken anything - alcohol, drugs, anything - find it and show me."
no subject
The rats find a couple of bottles of scotch and a mostly empty bottle of gin but both are neatly packed at the back of a shelf. There's also a first aid box with an interesting collection of pain-suppressants and stimulants and combat meds but it's neatly catalogued and nothing seems to be missing.

And knowing his luck, will end up with a hernia.
He looks at the bottles, makes a note of possible alcohol poisoning. Then he carefully brushes Jay's hair aside, looking for marks on his neck - he's involved with that blonde vampire, isn't he? he finds nothing there, but in checking his pulse at the wrist, finds something that looks more like scarring.
no subject
Jay generally has a lot of scars, most of them older and fading but there are overlapping fang marks on his right wrist that are more recent.
His pulse is there but wrong.

He braces himself, and attempts to pick Jay up.
"Next year you can go in the cells to sober up after your bender." he says, trying to get him safely in his arms to carry downstairs.

Jay comes to slowly, blinking and hazy. "Guppy?"

Guppy has just dozed off in the armchair next to him in the infirmary, and awakes with a start.
"Hey Jay. Welcome back to the land of the conscious."
He sits up and yawns.

"Wasn't aware I left it. What happened?"

He goes to the tea machine and brings Jay a cup of tea.

He accepts the cup of tea and sips it with appreciative nod. "Just being careless, is all. Might have worked a bit hard, skipped a few too many meals, or nights' sleep for that matter. Careless shit."
no subject
He hands Jay a leaflet with his tea.
