Thor blinks at the barroom, which in the time since he last visited has become covered in small plastic blocks and similar accoutrements. Since it doesn't seem to be bothering anybody -- and anyway, he remembers this occurring some time ago too -- he shrugs amicably and makes his way over to Bar.

Where he receives, along with his requested beer, a screen. It contains four options: what looks to be a female-bodied version of himself, a large golden cat, a gleaming golden creature a little like a Destroyer, and a large dog covered in golden fur. (There's a theme, yeah.) Also, of course, an explanatory paragraph or two.

Thor regards them with amusement. "Why not?" he says. "It seems an entertaining custom."

He rejects the dog immediately; the others take a bit more thought. However, soon enough he decides. (Thor isn't a man given to long deliberation.) "A moment," he says, and deposits Mjölnir safely in an out-of-the-way corner. Then he drains the rest of his beer and presses a selection.

There is now a rather shiny lioness in the middle of the bar. It seemed fun!

Ah, so this is a patron. It smelled like there had been a human holding it recently, or something like that.

(Newly sharpened senses are weird, but also kinda cool.)

"I am Thor," he says. "Odinson."

"Sameth, Wallmaker and Prince of the Old Kingdom," As a frog he can't bow, but the wings do his best approximation.

The lioness bends his head fractionally, to the precise degree of one realm's royalty greeting another.

"And I am of Asgard, where my father Odin rules."

It's important to establish these things.

Flying is awkward so he finds a chair that's about the right height and lands,

"I don't know of Asgard, but few people know of my world. I need to improve these wings, they should be able to turn more."

Thor looks politely at the wings, though he doesn't know much about fine work. He's not an engineer, and his flying (such as it is) doesn't involve wings.

"Good luck to you. Is this your usual form?"

That might or might not be a rude question normally, depending on various circumstances. But it's Cubefall, so.

"No, I'm normally a human but I made this. Or not this frog exactly but one just like it for my mother. She sleeps outside a lot and I wanted her to have something to deal with all the bugs,"

Its one of his inventions that actually does what its meant to do, but its strange to be the frog.

...Huh.

"Are they a menace in your Old Kingdom?"

Bugs. Not mechanical frogs.

"Yes, especially in the swamps and mother has to sleep near running water,"

Carefully he darts out his tongue to test the air.

"A dangerous one?"

Thor is basically just trying to expand his mental lists of Things Humans Can Cope With and Things That Make Humans Break Oh My God They're So Fragile. As he understands it, bugs in general are on the former list, but he doesn't know what this Old Kingdom's ones are like.

"No, at least not more than anything else," The bugs are an annoyance that Sameth was helping with.

Thor has no idea what that means in this context. Life-threatening? A minor annoyance in a world free of many dangers?

He waits amiably to see if Sameth feels like expanding on that or not. Either way's fine with Thor.

Sameth doesn't say more as he doesn't realize the confusion, "What's Asgard like?"

Well, that's a broad question. Thor considers his answer.

Great is not helpful.

"It's another realm than Earth, if that's where your Old Kingdom is." He's human, which suggests yes, but at Milliways one never knows. "Very beautiful."

Its hard to sigh as a frog but his wings flutter in annoyance, its nice to meet someone not from Earth but he's from the Old Kingdom,

"No, the Old Kingdom isn't on Earth, but its similar to Earth in some basic ways but the Charter, our magic is unlike anything on any Earths."

...Huh.

The lioness is regarding Sameth with an interested, assessing look. (It probably looks kind of predatory, but that's just because that's what lion faces are good at.)

"In my universe, Earth is the only realm of humans, thus far." He's not quite going to apologize for the assumption, but he'll give a bit of explanation for it. "Is your magic the building of creatures such as that frog?"

There are some more specific terms that the Allspeech translates to modern humans as magic -- what Loki does (did), for example. But the general term, 'magic', is so broad as to be almost useless, for a society that draws no distinctions between science and magic; to Thor, they both fall under the general heading of 'technology.'

He flies up and then down again as the look makes him think of Yrael before he stays down,

"Yes, it is combined with forgework, its what I do. If you look at the back, I mean my back, there will be a glowing Mark, that's a Charter Mark."

The Mark isn't visible all the time but its there in the metal.

"So there is."

Thor just figured it was a sigil, whether of ownership or as part of the frog's controls.

"All of the Old Kingdom is created from the Charter and can be controlled but its not easy,"

There's so much he doesn't know yet.

Gravely, "Power rarely is."

"No, but the Charter tries to help,"

He feels it when he's doing some of his work.

Thor's ears twitch in bemusement.

"In what way?"

A power that created the world and can be controlled with care and difficulty sounds like a perfectly reasonable basis for technology to him. But that's the kind of thing you generally get help with, not from. Unless he's misunderstanding the teminology of 'Charter' here.

"It does for me, sometimes, not always but at times, the Great Charter Stones move me towards what I need to do,"

Sameth wishes he were his proper shape, this is easier to show than explain and he's bad at talking about what he does.
