"You can't catch me!!!" The voice is high pitched and singsong as it playfully taunts those who are behind him playing what can only be a game of tag. The door is slammed shut before Momiji Sohma sliddeeesss to a halt.

"Oh cool I haven't been here in forever. You're that bar that thinks!"

A pause, as he tilts his head and ponders for a looonggg moment. "I guess that means my game is done for a bit!"

"Hey, Momiji!"

For a moment, given the time that's passed, Enzo worries that it might be a different one again, but his reaction to arriving clearly indicates that it's not. So that's okay.

"Enzo!" Momiji bounces right towards his friend, arms open wide like he might just wrap him in a hug. "It has been forever!." The singsong tone remains as the bright smile curls across his face and backpack bounces on his back.

Enzo is a bit relieved that they don't actually collide. He has glomped and been glomped plenty in his time, but usually the ones doing the glomping these days are his nieces. Momiji may be small, but he's not that small. He will accept a non-tackle hug, however, and do his best not to crush Momiji in return.

"It seriously has, dude."

Momiji might notice some cosmetic changes: Enzo's uniform is teal now instead of blue, with a black collar and no stripes down the front. Less obviously, there's a ring on his left hand.

"What're you up to?"

"Awww," But then Enzo DOES allow the hug, which Momiji overs without hesitation, squeezing tightly before letting go and skipping backwards a half step.

Momiji's bright smile doesn't fade a bit as he places his hands upon his hips and cocks his head sideways to look Enzo up and down. "You look different. But I haven't seen you in forever~. But time is weird here isn't it? I don't remember what I told you last!"

"Me either, but yeah, I know it's been more than a year here. You definitely missed a couple of things."

"Let me see...." Momiji tilts his head the other way thinking hard. "I think... see, there was that really scary guy. And then.... oh! Did your nieces like the bunnies? They were sooo cute!"

A slight bounce in place, but Momiji doesn't actually leave the ground. "What did I miss? It's not fair the bar just didn't come back!"

That jogs Enzo's memory. "They love them. And thanks for the figurines, and Dani's box, they're really nice.

"Welllll, let's see," he drawls exaggeratedly. "I graduated..."

Momiji's hands clap together with excitement, "I'm so glad! Good gifts are HARD because you never know if someone is actually going to like them!"

Enzo's announcement has Momiji's jaw dropping. The urge to HUG again comes swift, but he manages to stop it JUST BARELY... though his arms do thrust wildly outwards. "Congratulations!!! That means you get to do really cool stuff you didn't before right?"

"Yeah, well, sometimes. New Guardians have to work in the Port Authority at first, so sometimes it's cool stuff and sometimes it's just checking people's checksums and making sure they're not carrying any corrupted files."

"So, it's like an airport, right? So you get to meet allll new people! That sounds like fun! Do you find lots of cool stuff?"

Enzo grins at Momiji's enthusiasm and considers a suitable anecdote.

"Well... a little while ago this one guy tried to smuggle in some virtual pets, and they all got loose."

"oohhhhhh...." Momiji actually closes his eyes to picture an airport where pets have been set free. It must be an amusing picture because he grins as his eyes flicker open again.

"Where they cute and fuzzy? I //love// little furry things!"

"Yes. They were also everywhere. So was their poop."

So many ferrets…

Momiji giggles when Enzo says poop.

"Betcha didn't think you would be cleaning poop when you graduated! Did all the pets get good homes after?"

"I think so. They said they'd try, anyway. Oh, and speaking of, hang on a nano."

He heads to the front door, opens it, and whistles. After a moment, a small creature, about six inches across, hovers through it.

"Here's the second thing you missed. Minus, say hi to Momiji."

Ping!

Momiji tilts his head sideways to look at the small creature floating in front of him.

"Is he a pet? What /is/ he?" Bright eyes flick upwards back to Enzo but only for a second before they are back on the creature.

"Can I touch him?"

"Sure is! He looks like what you'd call a nautilus, but he's actually my chat client. And he likes being petted."

Minus emits a friendly chime like an outgoing message.

Momiji reaches out a hand, and pets the creature gently, curling a hand around the creature's shell.

"So, he's like... He talks?" All the puns....

Minus chimes again and waves his tentacles gently.

"No, I use him to talk to people. Check this out... hang on, stop petting him for just a nano. Minus, message for Dani: 'Momiji's back in the bar! He says hi.'" This seems a safe assumption.

Minus snaps to attention (as evidenced by floating an inch or two higher and straightening his tentacles a bit). A chat window appears in the air with Enzo's words in the input field.

"Send," says Enzo. Minus makes a decisive sort of tone, and the text moves to the main panel of the window. As an afterthought, Enzo adds, "'Also, what do you want to do for dinner tonight?' Send." A second line of text joins the first.

When Enzo gives that warning for him to take his hand away, Momiji zips it right behind his back. The sudden shift in the creatures attention has the teen jumping, and then shifting so that he can stare at the window.

"COOL. So you can like, talk to ANYONE from there? Or do they have to have one too?"

"He's part of the T-Minus network, which is a special chat client someone came up with just for Milliways, it actually works between worlds! So usually you'd have to have a T-Minus unit. They're not all pets like him," he adds, "he's how the software is in my world, they're usually a little handheld thing kinda like a clam with a keyboard. But since he is like this, he's been able to learn to interface with other communication systems in my world. So I can talk to my world from here, and he can interface with my portal's commlink and that can relay the message to Dani's phone."

He grins suddenly. "That's the other thing you missed..."

"ooohhhh..." Momiji is much impressed by this explanation. "So you never get shut out of knowing what is going on here! That's cool!"

At mention of SOMETHING ELSE, Momiji's gaze cuts over to Enzo, examining top to bottom then FOCUSING on his HAND. "YOU ARE WEARING A RING ENZO!"

Enzo grins even wider. Sharp kid. "And so is Dani."

"You two got MARRIED."

He can put two and two together, and right now those two are Dani and Enzo!

"WHEN?" Though, Momiji is going to assume it was in however much time has passed in bar since he last arrived.

Enzo laughs. "Nah, dude, that's in a few years. We got engaged. About eight months ago."

"Aww, why so long? Weddings are so. much. fun."

"She wants to finish college first. And I'll be an adult in my world around then, so it works out well."

Minus pings as some new text appears:
Hi Momiji!
My place? Mom's been hinting we haven't eaten there in a few nights.

The sigh that breaches Momiji's lips is one of satisfaction which would easily put any TV sigh to shame.

"That is just so /perfect/! Fall in love, grow up, get married....."

ooc: Sorry, out of town and so I'm pretty spotty.

Enzo is almost embarrassed, running his fingers between the flaps of his hair. "Yeah, we've been sorta ridiculously lucky with each other. I know it doesn't work out so perfect for everyone. I mean, our parents even built us a portal between our worlds to help make sure it did. Having to go through Milliways to see each other isn't the best happily ever after, you know? What if... well, look how long it's been since you were here."

"Hey Momiji!" Guppy gives him a wave.

He has his youngest two kids with him today, so Momiji has two slightly overexcited little girls aged about one and a half and nearly four watching him too.
