Hank McCoy / Main Bar

 Hank comes in excited and a little rushed, with a stack of comic books. With Charles and Erik away on their first mission to find and possibly bring back more mutants, he's decided to play it safe and not leave anything potentially embarrassing around and what better place to hide such materials than a magic bar?

Assuming they don't attract other people's attention, of course.

(Ellen's trying not to be too obvious, because it's rude to stare, but... comic books. Even if they're not from Hubris Press they're still comic books.)

[OOC: I'm about to head out for an evening visit to the Aquarium, but I'll be back on later tonight!

"Whoa whoa whoa-" Ellen ducks to grab at them herself, because you don't let books hit the floor at home. You just don't. "Sorry! Sorry, they- I think they're all right-"

"You're welcome. I don't think I've seen these before," Ellen says, backing up a step. She'll drop the subject immediately if it seems to be causing problems; Vault manners dictate that you don't push unless necessary. "I mean. Around here, anyway."

"I could probably trade you, if you wanted," Ellen offers. "For the meantime, I mean. My issues of Drake Tungsten and Grognak the Barbarian are all reprints, but I do have to bring them back home sooner or later or the Scribes on the reprinting project will start asking awkward questions."

It's standing policy among the Capital Wasteland Brotherhood to reclaim every single book or other printed matter that can still be read, whether a college textbook or a child's story or five pages of advertising from a pre-War magazine. They all offer windows into a past that no longer exists. Comic books from before the War are no exception, in the Order of the Quill's eyes.

"Oh, Grognak's great," Ellen says. "I don't know how they managed it but the artist was good enough at rendering the fight scenes that you could teach yourself swordsmanship from it- I mean, assuming you didn't mind that some of your moves were designed for going up against giant snake monsters and evil sorcerors and things like that. And Drake Tungsten's from the same company- it's about a cowboy who finds a time-traveling car from the future and winds up having to bounce around history and the future trying to make sure things come out right. I don't have as many issues of that as I do of Grognak, but we're working on it."

"Nice collection." Jay comments with no mocking at all. He's stretches out at a table, his feet on a chair and a robotic arm across his knee, wires trailing out from a broken shoulder joint.

"I don't know. Looks pretty impressive to me." Jay pushing his robot parts aside. "Need a hand?"

{ooc: sorry for the slow tagging.}

"I'm sure the Bar could get you one." He gives Hank a hand to put them down, catching a couple as they slide off the top of the pile and make a bid for freedom. "If not I'm sure I've got something in the workshop that'll do the job."
