After helping Jay and the girls, William had trouble sleeping, he had nightmares of Mark coughing his lungs out and his father bleeding out.

In the morning, he comes downstairs and heads out to stables to spend the day working as life is easier with the horses, their needs are simpler. Later in the day, he sits down to eat his lunch on a hay bale by the paddock to watch the horses.

(OOC: Catch him anywhere around the stables. Open until it scrolls with some slow as I have guests over.)

Minx is out in the stables, enjoying the company of the horses. It helps her think. She smiles to see someone else here. "Are they yours?"

"No, ma'am, I just help out here cause my family has a ranch and I work with horses a lot,"

He starts to stand up, realizes his lunch is in his lap so tips his hat at her.

"Oh, don't let me bother you." She smiles, waving for him to stay where he is. "I was just wondering if anyone's allowed to ride them? I haven't been riding in years and I miss it."

"You ain't, ma'am and yes, there are. A few of 'em are here for everyone to use and there's tack too. Let me just finish this up and I'll show you around,"

His lunch is a sandwich so he gulps down his coffee and puts the cookies into his pocket before standing up while eating the sandwich.

"No hurry. Please don't let me interrupt your lunch." She leans in to stroke the beautiful chestnut.

He nods and sits down again to eat slowly while the horse leans its head out,

"Right inside the door are some apple slices that he could have."

She laughs warmly and pulls a couple of carrots from her pocket. "I brought my own. I've been coming down here a little bit lately."

"Good, sorry I haven't seen you. I'm usually workin' here if I'm around. My name's William Evans, ma'am."

"Minx Lawrence." She introduces herself, holing her hand flat to let the chestnut take a chunk of carrot. "I'm glad to meet the person who'd taken such good care of these lovely horses."

He shakes her hand and blushes, "I ain't the only one, there are others who help out."

"Still, they must like you. After all, you know where the apple slices are." She knows how easily bribed horses can be.

"And I feed 'em a good bit,"

With a few bites, he finishes up his lunch and stands up as another horse comes over the paddock fence.

Minx greets the new-comer with a smile and a piece of carrot. "Hello handsome. Aren't you magnificent! What's his name?"

"That's Rachat, he's a sweetheart and good for ridin'."

"Rachat." She smiles, stroking his long neck. "So he's a gentle ride? He looks like he'd race given the right rider."

"Most horses would when given the chance and yeah, he is."

"I'm sure that's true of people too." She grins. "So, am I allowed to ride him? The tack's in the stable, right?"

"Yes, let me know if you need any help as I can show you the good trails, ma'am,"

She's nice and pretty and he wants to be useful.

"I'd love that!" She smiles brightly, stroking the horse's flank. "I'm pretty sure I still remember how to saddle up but I'd be glad if you'd make sure I have it all right before I go anywhere. And it's be great if you could show me around. I haven't been here very long."

(OOC: I keep automatically switching over to Will S.'s login when I see Minx's username. Need more of them. :-))

"Of course, ma'am, let me get rid of my lunch and I'll help you get sorted,"

He's finished it and stands up to head into the tack room, leading the way to show her where everything is. That's also where there's a cot, table and stove for those working in the stables.

"Honestly, you don't have to call me ma'am. Minx is just fine." She laughs warmly.

It takes her a couple of goes to get everything right but she's has the right idea, saddling up the horse with care. "Any rules I should know about with the trails here? Any rights of way across properties or anything?"

{ooc: hehe! Yes indeed! Although Jay has a bar shift this weekend so it might have to wait a little bit.}

"I'll try not just bein' polite," He helps her a little by pointing out what works best,

"Not that I know of other than be careful of the demon bunnies in the forest and all the paths end up loopin' back around after a while."

She laughs warmly. "It's darling of you but I'd much rather you use my name."

Her face falls. "Demon bunnies?"

"Yes, m..Minx, they're out in the forest and breathe fire. They mainly stay away from the horses but still don't want to go too deep without keepin' an eye out for 'em."

"Ohhh-kay!" She shakes her head and strokes the horse's neck. "Just when I thought I had a handle on this place; fire-breathing rabbits."

She nods to the open stable door. "Come for a ride with me?"
